Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

I am trying to cook 21725 with ppck and running into a couple of problems. I have put the sys, dpi, and xip files in the correct places. I have changed all of the files to reference these new additions.

1. When I startup ppck it scans through all of the files and shows me a build window with some errors at the end. Here is what it says:

Internet Sharing needed for feature (Phone)
IRDA needed for feature (IrDA)
Phone needed for feature (Phone)
PhoneRedist needed for feature (Phone)
ppgprov missing feature GSM
SIM Toolkit missing feature SIM
SMS_Providers needed for feature (Phone)
PhoneRedist_DPI_96 needed for feature (Phone)

Phone_Lang_0409 needed for feature (Phone)
Phone_Lang_0409_DPI_96 needed for feature (Phone)
Keyboard Driver needed for feature (Keyboard)
Wireless Lan Manager needed for feature (WiFi)
VJCandela missing feature Apache
WM5torage (Apache Only) missing feature Apache
Colonel's Custom Theme (Apache) missing feature Apache

HTC TouchFlo w/Biotouch (Cube) (Choose Skin) missing feature !Titan
TouchFlo_3_0_1822_2719 missing feature !Titan
LongPressEndKey missing feature Vogue

Battery Performance missing feature Apache
Running Programs Link (Not for WM6.1) missing feature WM6.0
SlideSound missing feature Apache
Generic Cube Skin missing feature !Titan
Sprint Cube Skin missing feature !Titan
Verizon Cube Skin missing feature !Titan

Is that a problem? Or is it just that I am using a sys that was not originally part of ppck?

2. When I try to cook a build, it runs all the way through the process until the very end and I get a "Access to \Dump\welcomehead.96.png is denied" and it just quits.

3. Also, when it is going through the build process it asks if I want to overwrite some files. They are a couple ring tones, camera, and some other files I don't remember. Should I overwrite them or leave them?

Any help with these issues, not sure if they are related, would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff

I wasn't able to cook with the welcomehead.96 error. I copied over the welcomehead.96 folder (I don't remember the exact folder name) from a 21232 sys and then I no longer got the error message.

I have cooked a couple of roms now, and everything seems to be working correctly. Thanks for your help.

Hi guys,

Given all the updating we do for new builds, I thought it pertinent to bring the built-in ImageUpdate system up..

This system will allow updating of your ROM's without the need to lose your data (no hard reset!)

I will be working hard to make this a reality for all of us Chefs! Please see the thread i've started over at xda for more detailed info!

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

One question that is not totally related to WM65 ..

Da_G sometimes releases the MS OEM XIP as files (as opposed to XIP.bin) - however there are no *.txt files for the files/modules, can someone tell me what app I can use to create the corresponding files?

e.g.:

coredll.dll .. and I need the file: coredll.dll.txt which contains:

Module name: coredll.dll
dwFileAttributes: 00000007
ftTime: 01C9DDC85E2D6200
nFileSize: 000951D0
lpszFileName: P+00111FF0
ulE32Offset: P+0018BED0
ulO32Offset: P+001A17C8

THANX in advance for help on this..

This one should work. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...postcount=4358
This is the XIP that's needed. Just add it to the Titan_Core.rar. Don't forget to make the proper changes to you buildbases and devicebases files.

Post the ones you have. I am using the Developers build of ppck and the files are different. I can look at them and see if they are ok and if not, try and fix them for you.

You only missed one thing. You needed to add a line to the Titan_WM6.1.txt

XipFilename=Titan,WM6.5_21725,Titan_21725_xip.bin

Your builds were not inserting ANY XIP into the ROM, so I'll bet they weren't booting :drunken:. You changed the BuildID in the BuildBase file, but there was not BuildID in the DeviceBase to tell tell it what XIP to insert for that particular BuildID

Here is the fixed one.

anyone been able to build a custom taskbar for qvga into an oem to be used with wm6.5 (and I'm running 21725)? I've searched the threads and while finding lots of discussions about manually customizing the taskbar or installing a cab, I've not seen anything about custom oems.

what's the number of modules with the 21501? I think I read in this thread that above a certain number, ppck will not work. I could be wrong, though.

It's not necessarily the number of modules, but the size of the modules. Safest bet is to convert any modules that are large into files (i.e. the browsing folder has some larger modules, so does adobe flash) thus freeing up more room for other modules so you won't have any overlaps. This is ONLY an issue with the 6.1 kernel since the 6.5 has an extra slot. 6.1 has Slot 60 (0x78000000-0x79FFFFFF), 6.5 has Slot 60 and slot 61(0x7A000000 – 0x7BFFFFFF).

Also, I believe that the slots are divided into 4KB blocks....but I may not be 100% right on any of this. Anyone, please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Extract the rar to a folder. Open command prompt and go to the folder. Then run this command:

attrib -s -h -r *.* /s /d

Then backup your old rar, and save the new folder as a rar file with the same name.

I'm good with that, i'm just not sure what RAR files to do this to.

Nevermind I got it SYS_21725_96DPI_0409.rar

Just a heads up;

I've created a number of language packs with support for all resolutions and all dpis, and begun to upload them over on my thread @ xda. These are full and complete language packs, with .rgu, .dsm, proper modules, etc. These are up-to-date with the current Common/DPI release with all proper resources :)

By the end of the day I expect to have a complete collection of all languages uploaded, along with all dpi's and all resolutions!

Here's the link! http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...54&postcount=1

8 Languages right now and counting.. :)

DA_G,

The modules in these 0409 and the modules made from ervius's mnge2module dont contain the imageinfo.txt. Aren't they needed in case the module needs to be realloced? If so are modules made with ervius's reversmode.exe containing the imageinfo.txt & pe_imageinfo.txt able to realloc properly if I file these modules then turn them back with reversmode?

Da_G 05-29-2009 09:26 PM

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

I believe XIPPort.exe is only program that uses imageinfo.txt for reallocs, rest use imageinfo.bin afaik

Da G:

I really appreciate all your work.

The link your posted above that goes to RS for the language pack--its listed as 21276. Can I hope, or was it a typo?

Da_G 05-29-2009 09:51 PM

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

No typo :)

The rest is coming.. just lots of work to be done.. hehe :)

Re: Virtual Memory slots, it's actually 2 new slots, slot 60 (0x78000000-0x79FFFFFF) and slot 61 (0x7A000000 – 0x7BFFFFFF).

You are correct about 4kb block size, each new slot is 32mb, for a total of 64mb gained virtual memory :)

Hi Da G. For some reason I try to use your 0C0A package for the 21275 sys and Platformrebuilder show me and error: the first one on the Flashlite package and the second with the message attached. I'm using now my package 0C0A from 21234 and works ok.

With me, using 0816 mui files, it was a mobule in Base_Lang_0816 folder, so i used the previous ones from this folder.

Still some issues on crashing with modules and the MNGE converter, working on it

But tomorrow morning I leave on vacation, for Las Vegas :)

Back on june 4 or 5, so further leaks may have to wait until then, if I cannot get MNGE converter to work 100%, difficult to find the problem though, everything appears proper, yet crashing platformrebuilder, thinking might be related to relocation function inside, but don't know enough about the code to guess more than that..

Hehe, but it benefits me as well as you, I am anxious to use the 21726 files I have, but cannot either :(

Until the MNGE converter is fully operational at least!

Imagine.. like a kid with a new toy.. but its wrapped in the box.. locked with a padlock!!

Frantically trying random combinations..... :P

The important thing is, once MNGE converter is fixed, no longer will we be stuck translating CHS or rescaling DPI/resolution, will be all native :)
