BACKGROUND

Since i came from the Treo 700wx that includes the beloved vibrate switch at the top that i cannot live without i spent today writing a script that can be assigned to a hard button.

INSTALLATION

Tested SUCCESSFULLY with 6700, 6800 and treo 700wx

Copy the Cab file to your phone

click it.

after install

SoftReset after install

FUNCTIONS

Vibrate Cab
--Acts as a Treo Vibrate switch, one touch turns on vibrate, push it again and turn sounds back on. Now includes a Today Plugin, tap for menu click your Volume of choice, if volume selected is already set, nothing happens.

Prolifer Cab
--A Graphic User Interface(GUI) allows user to change the ringer and system with preset options as well as a custom option

Cool idea wow! I do use the switch on my 700wx from time to time. Once I finish getting my 6800 the way I want it I will check this script out.

Yikes! You really went all out with a UI and everything... Nice!

What a great app- works great. One thng I noticed is that the volume display on the top bar does not change- i.e. even though the phone is switched to vibrate the volume icon still shows sound.
-Also can you write a vibrate toggle that switchs between vibrate and full ringer/half sound?-EDIT - I figured this out- edited line 29 to set the volume to 125

haha its funny that u say u wanted half volume i use those settings too if this becomes a more common request i can change it for good... also im working on figuring out how to change the icons in the top bar as i do not believe it is as simple as a reg edit... thanks for the input!

This is a smokin app and exactly what an ex-treo user needed! Thanks for putting the time and making it available!

One other thing-
Occasionaly the box for enable sounds for events and programs (under sounds and notifications settings) gets unchecked when running the vibrate toggle- any idea why this happens?- it would be nice for the phone to still vibrate for reminders, events etc

EDIT- mabye I fixed this by removing this line?
EDIT- one last thing- the toggle switches my ringtone back to the default one that came with the phone- how do I specify my personalized ringtone?

weird neither of those things r happening with my phone... anyone else having these problems? what phone are you running? ill see if i can figure out which line might be causing that... that line you took out shoudl be reset when u reactive the volue with the like that changes mute back to 7...

Finally got around to install ing this little script. Very nice, simple, and easy to use, nice work wow. :thumbright:

I seem to have found the same issue. If I go into Sounds and Notifcations and check everything that I want and then use the button to put the phone into vibrate mode it unchecks everything on the sound tab.

It only happens when I go from ring to vibrate. If I go and check all the boxes I want and go from Vibrate to ring, my selections stay in place. I also noticed that if I go from ring to vibrate but have the sound tab open (active but does not need to be on front screen), it does not clear my preferences.

alright ill look into it tonight and hopefully post the fix for you later on this evening.

im also currently working with boxt to have the sound icon at the top of the screen change as you change your volume profile as well. he is also creating a cab for everyone...

alright i foudn and fixed the problem... well i guess i should give jimmy the credit since he really is the one that found it... i have editted the script and retested it, seem to be ok now... ill re upload it tonight

Excellent work- I am running the vibrate toggle version 2 without any problems- my ringer settings seem to be sticking as well (not sure what changed)

EDIT- FYI- appears my ringtone not sticking was due to the HTC touch dialer I had installed

I have tested both recieving calls and notifications both with the ringer and vibrate and switching between the two and have had no issues.

Great job on this one!!!

glad to see its working for everyone... if anyone would like to see more features added please feel free to make some suggestions...

we already have the sound symble change in the works and a cab file is hopefully one the way

hey the mid is only as loud as the system volume is... if we want a louder mid but same system volume... we will have to set the volume high play the sound and then rset it back low again.. clealy we could do this let me know what u think?

I personally with would like it to be loud when notifing me so I know its not on vibrate no more. ;)

EDIT- never mind I installed it and then was able to get and edit/customize the vibrate.mscr file.

BETA 5 IMPLEMENTED!

Does this program allow you to automatically switch to ringer when the phone is charging, and back to vibrate when you pull it out of the cradle?

If not, would you be able to add that feature?

i am working on adding the feature now.. i found and wrote most of the code needed, but i need to figure out one last step and it should be working... hopefully tomorrow!

trying to install on 6800 but wheel keeps spining after all bars install screen...

soft reset and try again... me and mike both have 6800s and i created it for the 6800 so i know for a fact that it is working for it.

I had the same problem. I found that after I did a soft reset, the app was installed on the today screen and seems to work fine....

afther rom upgrade to col 3.5 fial sprint still doesent work for me:(

BETA 8 WORKING BETTER THAN EVER!

Sorry I'm new to HTC and WM as I used to have a Treo 700p. Can you please tell me what the difference between the profiler and the other file that you attached at the top? Do I need them both?

the profiler has an graphical interface and allows you to pick profiles.. ie silent, half volume, full volume etc... it also has a customizer.. i never really went anywhere iwth this one bc the vibrate app was a bigger hit...

i would use that it acts bascially the same as the switch on the top of the treo that your used to.. includes today plugin as well if you chose to use it

this is exactly the type of program i've been looking for, great job!
