(16 September 2009) iDialer v0.53 - Usability & Stability edition

I would like to announce the next version of iDialer, v0.53! This is a companion post to the xda-developers post. This version adds a couple cool new features: copy&paste and "ask" option to allow you to choose service with every outgoing call (even calls made from iContact). It also fixes a couple bugs and adds better error reporting for unexpected Google Voice errors.

See my website for usage instructions.

Here's a full list of differences between v0.52 and v0.53:

[+] Added "Ask" option for service
[+] Added copy and paste abilities with long-tap on dialed number
[#] Tweaked titlebar
[#] Hid SIP button being displayed by iContactAE
[#] Fixed "bug report" bug with long-tap
[#] Reported better error messages with several Google Voice errors
[#] Fixed bug with full screen + MessageBox

Public service announcement about 911 calls: please test 911 from your phone before an emergency situation arises. I tried it on my phone the other day with the new Tachi phone canvas and it did not work the first time.

Download from my website:

http://www.supware.net/iDialer/

Update: I have a companion program, GreenButton, which better integrates iDialer into the OS. See my site for details.

Here's my iDialer wishlist for future updates:
  • Custom in-call screen
  • Request any URL

Here's some screenshots:

Re: (26 December 2008) iDialer v0.4 - keyboard edition

Looks great, Dude! Thank you - on behalf of the rest of us!

Two questions, though.

Will this work on the Samsung Omnia i910 (it has a different screen size - 240 X 400 - and digital keyboard configuration that may require a unique footprint and mapping...?

and

Does this have a Photo Caller ID feature...?

just asking...!

Yes, it should work on any size screen. It probably looks better on 240x400 than on 240x320. But let me know if it doesn't.

I'm not sure what you mean by "digital keyboard configuration", maybe you are talking about the Software Input Panel (SIP)? If so, iDialer doesn't use the SIP at all so that should be fine.

It's just a dial-pad so no, no photo caller id feature. You might like iCaller by Truburt (http://truburt.net).

(27 April 2009) iDialer v0.5 - Google Voice Callback

I would like to announce the next version of iDialer, v0.5! This is a significant update that adds the much-sought-after Google Voice callback method. Also with this new version comes a simpler configuration tool, and a zero-configuration download option ready to work with Google Voice.

See the first post for details!

Re: (27 April 2009) iDialer v0.5 - Google Voice Callback

Love the program. GV call back is awesome! the one thing that I am unable to do though is use callback from icontact (i.e. existing contacts or call history), it just calls from my phone bypassing the service i selected in idialer. the two programs appear to be integrated, i can open one from the other... they just aren't playing nice.. any help would be greatly appreciated.
