Re: what video player for .wmv files??
Kinoma Freeplay won't play the video but Kinoma Trialpay (http://kinoma.com/play/) will. I did it. I signed up for a Real account trial for 2 weeks and cancled it. Just click on the "Checkout with Trialpay button on the middle right side of the page. Free Kinoma right there. I love Kinoma for it's Shoutcast capabilities and also ORB and Tuned.mobi for listening to local and international FM and AM radio stations and for it's great finger friendly interface.
Or you can go buy CorePlayer (www.coreplayer.com). I use this a lot for videos. Also has a Youtube client built in. Also.. TCPMP will play it if you use the WMV plugin for it. The version I am going to include is to be installed to "Main memory only." The only two things TCPMP has over Coreplayer are it's capabilities to play aac+ in stereo and it's price.. Free! If Windows Media Player won't play the WMV file on your phone, than it probably won't play in any other program either. Maybe the bitrate, framerate and/or resolution is too large for PPC. Check that. PPC usually has a hard time with bitrates over 400k, framerates over 25 (sometimes 15 even) and resolution larger than that of the device itself. If this is the case than you just need to convert it. Easy converters are winAVI (www.winavi.com - Not free) or Nero (www.Nero.com - Not free). ************ The best easy to use and free converter would probably be Super ©. It's hard to figure out the darn download page, so I'm going to try to explain this quickly.. 1. Goto http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html#Dnload using Internet Explorer not Firefox, it only downloads with IE.. Weird. 2. Scroll to the bottom, right below the fourth red bar, and click "Start Downloading SUPER ©" 3. On this new page, right below the red box that says "Do NOT purchase a copy of SUPER © from anyone" there is a blue link that says "download and use", Click that. 4. On this third page, scroll all the way to the bottom and click on the link that says " Download SUPER © setup file". And then choose "Run". ************ Crazy way for them to go about it, but whatever, it's worth it. Good luck! I know I rambled a bit. Hope it helps. |

Re: what video player for .wmv files??
It must be a file problem then. I can play wmv on Kinoma. If I had taken the time to view your status and noticed you weren't a noob, then I wouldn't have went into all of that.
Sorry. |
