Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
Personally, I'm not impressed either. I just don't like the look at all. I know it's free and everything, but I'm a little disappointed.

Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
I installed it a little while ago. I just think it's ugly. Just my personal opinion though.

Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
Well the themes and everything haven't started coming out yet but i think it looks great with my black and purple theme.
|
Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
Yeah the first thing I did was change the background and I think it looks good but now it is locking up my device and all I did was change the update interval for the weather.

Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
i think it might have to do with the rom also. im running on top of mightys and it runs and looks buitiful.
|
Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
I uninstalled it an reinstalled it and it locked up again once I launched it. It may be the ROM. I am on Juggalo's and was just lookin at Mighty. I may go ahead and flash. Also, I have many programs installed and something else could be causing it.

Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
what do u have running in the backgroud?
|
Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
YES!!! trying it now!
|
Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
The only thing running that was listed was activesync and that was not actually syncing. I am flashing now so I will see if this fixes my issue. I really want this to work well. i have been checking the pointui site a couple of times a day and it seemed to be running fairly quickly until it locked up on me.

Not entirely. The TF3D weather app is MUCH better. The app list holds more apps. Plus I like to use the TF3D music and picture/video tab which don't really exist on PointUI. Also, the text messaging and email interface is better on TF3D. I slightly prefer the contacts too. Actually, now I think about it, I'm not quite sure if there is anything PointUI does better. I guess it moves and transitions a lot more fluidly. |
Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
So I set this up again and again it locked up. Do not set the update interval to 4 hours. For some reason that is causing my problems. The interval at 24 works fine though.

Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
TF3D is still better than pointui... hands down

Definitely, but I guess if you can't have TF3D, PointUI is a good alternative. I'm actually going to try and run both though, for cool points. :geek: |
Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
For those have moguls.....downloaded and running GREAT!!!!!
I think this is much better than M2D in my opinion. Very smooth and clean!! |
Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
Keep in mind that this is the free version... the commercial version will have a lot more features.

Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
im thoroughly impressed with this.
i disabled tflo and enabled this plugin and its like smooth as butter on the diamond the graphics are crisp and neat, the ui is very intuitive and easy to get used to. memphis isnt included in the city list yet, but other than that.. for a preview beta release this is stunning. i suggest they increase the plugin screen size all the way to the top and hide the start/signal topbar. |
Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
Im very impressed with the aesthetics and the speed, super fast and beautiful graphics...but the actual "apps" I find not very finger user friendly. Its not very easy to cycle between email accounts and it is missing a full upcoming appointments and weather app, but I guess those will be coming out soon. Now that mobile shell 3 is rumored to be coming out I guess the competition is really heating up.

Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
I installed, liked the looks, but again how do you change the temperature readings? Decided to uninstall, could not remove, even with the soft reset then reinstall trick. Then it started to freeze my TP! Just finishing a 6 hour hard reset and reinstallation of all my programs. Just be aware you may have to do the same.

Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
I installed it and played with it for a while. I was able to add my city to the list and it was workign fine. This UI has definitely great potential and the framework seems to be nice, stable, and fast. However, I feel that it is not ready for primetime yet. I think it still needs some usability improvements since once the "wow" factor wears off it may fall a bit short.

It still needs work. If you select "Chicago" in the World Tab, it shows that Chicago is apparently on the coast of a West African nation (Liberia, maybe???). Anywhoo, editing the xml file is beginning to take an HTC Weather xml editing experience i.e. it is a f*cking butthole pain to do. PointUI developers should bring back the PointUI 1.51's weather app guts where finding cities was nearly flawless and the options were abundant. Otherwise, a music player plugin is brain-numbingly missing. This is a norm for WM overlays these days. PointUI is good otherwise, but these omissions are old omissions that should have become inclusions by now. Ah well ... we await the future ... |
Re: [UI] Pointui Home 2.0 Preview
Yeah, the cities and weather portion is all screwed up. They need to add more cities instead of having use endlessly coding for them.
