Re: Google Maps 2.3 with Street View available for Windows Mobile
I tried it yesterday. With my HTC 6800 the left soft key is not recognized with the software.
The text size is so small as to be almost not readable. The "Street View" is not worth the problems with the software. |

Re: Google Maps 2.3 with Street View available for Windows Mobile
Google maps is awesome on the TP. One problem though-- when it starts, i have to hit options and check the "Use GPS" area each time. Is there a way to have it default to "Use GPS"?
Thanks |

The Blue dot stays, I assumed that meant the GPS was still on. I'll go out soon and try it, and see if it tracks after I uncheck the box. However, I found another problem. In the last version, I could paste GPS coordinates to the "Get Directions" choice. My wife and I use SmartPhoneTracker, which allows either of us to sent a text string to the other's phone, and within a minute get a text back with GPS coordinates. We always could copy the coordinates and then paste it into both the "Start Point" and "End Point" under "Get Directions" and it would show the point the other person was at on Google Maps. That no longer works, as it won't allow a paste. No menu will pop up at all, including to paste in a physical address. Despite the "cool factor" of the street view, the loss of other more useful features makes me want to switch back until they get it fixed. I can get it to work in a round-about way on Live Search, but I always liked doing it on Google better |

Yeah once it tracks your location via GPS the blue dot stays. I wish, like the above poster, that it could always use GPS on open. I keep my GPS active via GPS Toggle all the time.

Re: Google Maps 2.3 with Street View available for Windows Mobile
I am having an issue that I can't seem to figure out with the newest version of Google Maps. Each time I go to use the software, it states that it can't find a connection. This isn't even using GPS, it won't load any maps. I have never had connection issues ever, with any software or calls. I have Sprint and get good coverage wherever I am. Moreover, I will switch over to LiveSearch and get maps/gps/searches instantly with no problems. This issue has never presented itself until this newest release.
I know the easiest solution is to just use LiveSearch, but i really do like Google Maps and tend to use both. It just drives me nuts that it's not working properly and I can't figure out why. Any thoughts? Has anyone else had this issue? |
