I downloaded both and replaced the .exe with 0.7a
I kept the .dlls in a Program folder I made. It works. |

Re: Barcode Scanner in here (Like the G1) [APP]
I thought this would show stores near me as well, but I guess it's just online stores. I searched for some plackers floss and it only showed me stuff online. It got my zip code right and everything though.
Is there another site you can run the upc against to do local stores as well? It would be cool to be at best buy, scan a bar code, and then see that a local electronics store down the road has the part for cheaper... |

Re: Barcode Scanner in here (Like the G1) [APP]
Sorry, I can see how the "location specific" wording might have been misleading. I just edited the post to be clearer.
The way its setup it just opens a google products page for the item you scanned, which for now is online only. If you can find a database of local stores pricing and inventory you can edit the options to point there instead. I have a feeling it will be a long time before we see something like that though. |

Re: Barcode Scanner in here (Like the G1) [APP]
I honestly have no idea. Ive never even seen a G1.
It could sort of work for local stuff. It might pull up a price for a Target or Best Buy or something but you would have to look up a local one and check stock / price yourself. It think right now its best used as a indicator as to whether or not you're getting a good deal. If it finds 10 places online that are selling your item for 40% cheaper, maybe you should look somewhere else. |
