One thing i did notice was that the Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter is not under the network adapter tab in the device manager on my vista PC but I do see the phone listed in the mobile devices tab or at least something that goes PocketPc usb Sync.. I consider myself to be computer savvy but this is ridiculous. I was assuming it was an error on my part but I think its this software Microsoft put out. I would like any further suggestion anyone may have other than the uncheck the enable advance function in the usb to PC tab, uninstall the software and reinstall which I did, hard reset my device which I did. Please help or this phone is going back to best buy before I can say C..p

just goto settings>connections>USB to PC>and make sure the bottom box is checked saying "ask about connection type" and when u plug it in select ActiveSync. It will then install the driver for ActiveSync and you can now use it. Otherwise all you can do when you plug your phone in is just view your storage card.
