This is just a mobile site but looks pretty easy to navigate:

Thanks for looking, I've seen all of these before and I'll probably end up with one. It looks like the wxsys requires a subscription and I'll probably take a closer look at cupitt. There are others that are out there, that include airport diagrams and much more but are way too expensive. I like the aeroweather app because it's simple and free. Cupitt will work, but you have to check multiple boxes to weed out the data you want vs. what you don't want. I just flew with a guy who had this and it was nice because it was simple. Enter the airport id and hit ok. Drives me crazy that the iphone has several free apps that do exactly what I want, but I've been searching like crazy for aviation related wm apps and the ones i like cost $150 or more.

Speaking of which...I found another app that cool. Skywatch planetarium. You can get a gps fix on your location, get a fix on one point, then use the accelerometer to point at whatever object you want. Only $9.99.. Is there anything like it on wm? I've done a brief search, but not much.

sorry about that dlink72. the problem with windows mobile app is that there's never been a system like apple has especially with all the hype around it. and once the precedence was kinda set at $.99 or free everyone just followed suite. unfortunately for us (winmo users) thats never been the case. developers have just treated windows mobile like windows for pc, and priced their apps the say way.

That's what I figured. Don't get me wrong, I like certain things about the iphone, but it's one device. wm phones just keep getting better. Sooner or later microsoft will catch on and make an operating system to win back everyone drinking the apple flavored coolaid.

Re: [UPDATED 1/21/09]This iPhone App = This WinMo App

Here is my List:

CISCOVPN on Iphone is Free. Paid for the phone itself.
Someone help me get this on my HTC Touch Pro. The ones I found don't work with WM6.1 and cost $$$$$

A few that I like:

XBMC Remote
Pandora (doesn't work on my phone). Works on my Axim but it is garbled up.
Slacker

These are web enable apps and sure you can duplicate some of the functionality but the ease of use on the Iphone rocks:
Flixster
TWC (The Weather Channel)
ABC News
i.TV
UrbanSpoon
AOL Radio

For example, Flixster will find my cinemas close to me by GPS, I can watch trailers and buy tickets in one application. no need to click on this or click out of this.
In WinMo, you have to use several apps just to get this.

The Weather Channel app is cool because the interface allows a quick link to your local TV weather report and I can watch it with one click within the app.
Same for ABC News. It links to my local ABC affiliate based on GPS and I can watch local ABC news. Again, all in their app's local space/domain.

The point is the "breadth-of-useability" is there with the iphone. The sheer level of convenience is incredible.
I've been using WinMo since 1996 when it was called Pegasus. Velo 1 owner, Sharp Mobilion owner. IBM z50, Axim x51v, Ipaq, HP Jornada owner.
In the short 2 years the iphone has been out, the eco-system support for it is unparallel.

There are some cool accelerometer games and their price is good to, Motochaser was like $2.

This is an honest question: can't PdaNet do this for the iPhone (jailbroken) now?

I find myself on the fence too, especially if DataViz releases an iPhone version for DocsToGo.

How about this one

I know I know, everybody is sick of hearing "iphone app this and iphone app that." I try to refrain as much as possible from comparing phones but I do have a question about the possibility of creating this application.

There are a couple phone tracking applications so I know this should be possible.

On the iphone there is an app called PI. What it does : If your phone is ever stolen and someone is messing around with your applications and clicks on this application it automaticall generates an email and sends it to your email address you have selected in the settings. It shows exact latitude and longitude of your phone when the email was generated and shows it on a google map pinpointed. Basically, it would act like a secondary buffer for phone tracking and personally I would love this application.

Anybody else agree or am I just out of my mind?
