Re: BAF MSL Grabber, version 1
For those of you getting COM9 error, put phone in flight mode and try again. It appears to fail with an open data connection that is active. Compusmurf and NexVision helped track this down.
If you are getting errors in BAF MSL, make sure to close your data connection and/or put your phone in flight mode while retrieving MSL.

Re: BAF MSL Grabber, version 1
Here is an application I found a while back that does the same thing. Input your ESN number and it spits out the MSL for the device.
I've used it for my friends at work to give them their MSL numbers without having the install anything on their phones. |

Re: BAF MSL Grabber, version 1
Here's an idea for a future version... since the Get MSL button is on the initial screen, there's no point having as a soft menu key. However, the logical next-step once you have the MSL is to launch EPST for customizations, so perhaps the menu key should instead open the the EPST tool... and, if possible, enter the obtained MSL code automatically.
So short version-- Softkey triggers ##778#, (and if possible) automatically selects Edit and enters the MSL code.

Not sure to the feasibility of auto-entering MSL, but definitely linking to EPST is a nice feature. It does work on the Diamond.... care to give more details about what happened? |

Re: BAF MSL Grabber, version 1
Baffles,
the problem is with the new MEID as you may already know... the application will generate a number for you but it doesn't work.. the only method so far for MEID devices is the registry hack.. maybe you could do a small program that will enable the registry values for logging and then read the output from the text file that the ATDbgLog makes which is a folder in the root of the device that contain a text file with correct MSL... |

Re: BAF MSL Grabber, version 1
My program will work on MEID as well, it takes a huge shortcut on the registry hack. My main testing device was the Touch Pro, which as you know, is an MEID device.
