Re: Scottymomo's Pocket Sports Center--UPDATED 3/24/08
Can you add an option for when you click on the today plugin to do a manual update. I think I'd rather have more control over when it updates since I don't really need an autoupdate. It'd be easier for me if I could just do like two clicks, and it update manually. For a spur-of-the-moment kinda thing..

- click disable autoupdates then reenable to force an update - leave auto updates disabled, tap, launch pocket sports center, then select the sport/team you want to get their score. |

Re: Scottymomo's Pocket Sports Center--UPDATED 3/24/08
Is there a help file for this program? I just found this program and installed it on my Tilt. It's showing up in my Today page, but I can't seem to figure out how to use it. At this time of year, all I want is to display and update 1 or 2 teams scores, say Yankees and Red Sox. I selected both teams, but the program is scrolling through the entire day's MLB schedule. Also not sure how to set up the options for autoupdating frequency and times. Any help would be appreciated.

If it's on your today screen then all you need to do to "open" it is highlight it and then select it.
After it opens there are numerous options for selecting your options. For MLB make sure that you have disabled MLB altogether and have only selected your specific teams. For all updating purposes go to the following menus under your options menu: "Set Auto Update Start Time", "Set Auto Update Time", Set Today Update Period", Set Today Cycle Rate", and "Enable Auto Updates". Things are pretty clear in the above menus. late, Coz

Question, do people notice battery drain by having auto update on? |

Re: Scottymomo's Pocket Sports Center--UPDATED 3/24/08
It will probably depend on how often autoupdate refreshes the information (grabs the info from the internets).. if it's set to once every 30 minutes or so you won't/shouldn't see much battery drain compared to updating every minute etc..
MLB and NFL are the default items enabled when you install.. |

Re: Scottymomo's Pocket Sports Center--UPDATED 3/24/08
As Scotty said the battery drain is nearly non-existent at 30 minute updates. I've gone to 15 minute updates even and again it's hardly noticable.

Re: Scottymomo's Pocket Sports Center--UPDATED 3/24/08
Greetings ScottyMoMo and thanks for the App. I've recently made my first adventure into Windows Mobile with a Treo 800w and found this app. I have a few issues.
1) When I lose service (I live out in the country-ish area) I start to get error messages from the program including something from foxsports. When I regain service the program stops updating. and just cycles through old scores 2) There seems to be some ghosting issues on the today screen bar from images when I scroll up and down. I can try and grab a screenshot for you. 3) I tried using this with SPB Mobile Shell in one of the tabs but it doesn't show the score line but rahter a ghosted image of what ever tab I was viewing before. Any ideas or thoughts of how I Could fix this? So far your app is the only sports ticker I have found and it would be perfect if I could just fix these issues. |
