Woot button
I'm looking for a simple PPC version of the 'Woot button' app that I hear all the iPhoners using.. It's a simple app that when you press a button, it plays a sound.. Very comedic if done at the right time (rimshot for joke telling, Price Is Right 'you lost' sound, crowd laughter, etc)..
Anything like that? I asked over at the xda forums and I don't think they got the 'fun' part of wanting to have an app like that.. -Matthew

You could create a shortcut to the sound file and place it in your /windows/startmenu/programs folder.
or You could write a mortscript using the playsound command and put the script file in your /windows/startmenu/programs folder. 9.22.2 Play a WAV file (PlaySound) PlaySound( WAV file ) Plays the given file. The script is paused until the sound is played.

My solution would be to create a folder called Woots and place short MP3 sound files in it. I would then put a shortcut to Woots on my Today Screen, using tdLaunch, freeware (CAB available at 2nd link below). Finally, I'd make it finger friendly so that it can be done 1 handedly, with thumb of the hand holding phone, by using GS Finder Plus. GSF+ is also freeware, info here:

Think I'll do this one day, time permitting. PS: I have MP3s associated to TCPMP (GSF+ makes this easy) so as not to disturb current playlists in my regular music players, and to allow quick launching of a single request or perhaps soon, whoot sounds. maybe the app could have a gui to name the buttons and link to a sound?
