Re: Does leaving Skyfire on make your diamond warm? Battery drain?
I'm not sure about the Diamond, but my Touch gets pretty damn hot when running Skyfire, and my battery DRAINS.

Re: Does leaving Skyfire on make your diamond warm? Battery drain?
This happens on my Mogul also. If Skyfire is running and you hit the power button to put it to sleep and slip it in your pocket, the phone will get hot and the battery will get drained as if the CPU is still pegged out or something. The only work around is to exit out of skyfire when you're done using it.

Thanks for the responses. It's 65% now after posting
I didn't run a stream in skyfire before turning off the screen this time, and it's not as hot. With all the battery drain issues for Diamond in general, probably not a great idea for me to run Skyfire right now. Toasty lesson for my pants.... |

my touch does this. An hour or so of skyfire and its dead. its actually more demanding than streaming slingbox, which seems crazy.

Re: Does leaving Skyfire on make your diamond warm? Battery drain?
Heated up my 8525 pretty quick. I've streamed quite a bit and this was way worse than anything else I've done. Couldn't multitask to check memory status. Deleted.

Re: Does leaving Skyfire on make your diamond warm? Battery drain?
Skyfire has to maintain a constant data connection in order to work. So, of course your phone gets hot and the battery drains. It's as if you are continuously surfing the web if you leave Skyfire running.

Re: Does leaving Skyfire on make your diamond warm? Battery drain?
Yes, it killed my battery from fully charged to almost fully dead (under 10%) in about 5 hours. I removed the battery from my phone at that point until I was able to charge it in my car. I didn't leave it running, I exited out of the program using the exit button and it wasn't running when I opened the task manager.
Normally I take it off the charger at around 06:00am and by the time I put it back on the charger at 09:00pm it's anywhere from 60 to 80% charged. Skyfire was the only thing I had added prior to the battery drain. Thought it may have been a fluke but since then I've been seeing more and more reports like this. I've since removed it and probably won't try it again until it comes out of beta. Now it's entirely possible Skyfire wasn't the cause but I don't feel like doing any more testing at this point.
