Re: sprite backup update - 6.5

Another forewarning about Sprite backup, uninstallation is a nightmare. It's never been guaranteed, don't know why but they can't seem to figure out how to uninstall the application. Lots of hurdles to jump over to get the applicaiton off if you no longer want it.

LOL, that cracks me up.

The only way to totally uninstall any trace of it is to restore the BU you made with SPB right before installing Sprite.........

"This special upgrade version of Sprite Backup is for customers who have a pre-installed Backup version on their Palm device.

Exclusively for Palm customers. For the low price of $10, a saving of 66% on the full $29.95 price, you can upgrade to the latest version of the #1 windows mobiles backup solution. You’ll benefit from the latest developments of our Backup technology, with new features and performance increases in speed and stability. "

Then it lists: Version 6.5
Requirements: WM5, WM6/6.1

Re: sprite backup update - 6.5

Chimmer... that does sound like confusing double-speak for Palm customers.

I should have made it clear in my post that I was talking about version 6 updates for Windows Mobile customers. Mea culpa!

I tried it. It adds a backup manager to your PC where you can configure backups from there.

As far as the 800w, all it adds is a 1 touch backup. You select it and it will do a backup. When I select the original Sprite Backup icon, the version still shows version 6.1.0, which I guess is in ROM. There was no separate full 6.5 version added to the 800w, only the 1 touch backup.

I didn't care for it so I uninstalled it.
