Will backup work across WM5 to WM6?

This may be a stupid newbie question but ....

It looks like I can download Sprite backup from the Palm website. I was looking into that or SPB, but seeing as Sprite is free, and I haven't read anything bad about it from you guys, I'll start there.

My main reason for back up is to install the Palm Verizon WM5 to WM6 update.

Question is ... will the backup work across releases?

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Re: Will backup work across WM5 to WM6?

I own both Sprite & SPB BU & have done restores from both. First of all, SPB is a much better app IMHO. I have never once gotten an absolutely perfect restore from Sprite & because of that I never use it anymore.

Second, I would not restore anything but data & stuff like PIM data across OS versions.

+1 for SPB Backup. You definitely don't want to restore WM5 settings, reg keys, etc onto a WM6 device. PIM data and documents are about all you want to restore

Not sure if you would want to use it but PIMBackup will work as well. Been using it on my mogul for awhile now and have had no problems.
