Enable SMTP authorization and put your login and password into the details.

I believe what the OP wants to know is, in light of the fact that Sprint is shutting down email service, will the workaround of using Sprint's SMTP server still work?

I think you need to sign up with another free-carrier, such as gmail to route your E-Mails for you.
During RR setup, leave everything they same, but change the smtp server to smtp.gmail.com, fill in the information for that account, and it will send using that account. |

They are changing to that mobile email thing, which personally upsets me not. Never used PCS mail, don't use the mobile thing either.

Re: Sprint ending PCS Mail service 12/2008, outgoing mail on Mogul
Thanks for the responses. I appologize for starting a new thread, but when I performed a search I couldn't find an answer to my question.
My understanding is that Roadrunner does not allow outsite access to their SMTP servers. Any attempts I have made to use RR's smtp have been unsucessful. I have tried adjusting the settings and had no luck. When I first ran into this problem, with my 6600, the most popular suggestion was to use the Sprint PCS smtp server for outgoing mail. I hadn't heard that there was another alternative. PCS mail just made it easy to setup the outgoing mail to still display my correct, non-SPCS, email address. I will try another search regarding the SMTP setup. |
