Exactly.

I get by FAR the best movie playback on the TP by ripping to h.264 format (which also plays perfectly in my ipod touch).

If I play those movies with WMP, it produces virtually perfect smooth skip-free playback.

If I play the same files with Kinoma, they are almost unwatchable. When I try to play them in KP, it is a jerky blotchy pixxelly mess dropping frames like crazy.

I would love to use KP for all my multimedia PB, that is why I bought it. That is not possible however & I don't even bother to install it anymore (& yes, I've tried the latest version -it was no better than any previous version in this regard).

It annoys the hell out of me that the free WMP (which I hate) produces perfect PB & the app I spent $30 on doesn't.........

I downloaded this morning and have been playing with the radio stations on my car stereo all day. I'm definitely purchasing. Well worth 30 bucks.
John, with all due respect, you have been on this thread since the beginning (and the thread is a year old)...that being the case, I'm sure your using this program for something. It seems to me like you got your money's worth. Just my 2 cents (plus $30).

I think he has been o nthis thread for the same reason i have. I payed thirty bucks for an application who's core functionality (video playback) has not advanced as far as the crappy media player that comes with my phone. I LOVE kinoma....if i'm not watching movies.

I only use kinoma for uploading to youtube... and really I dont even use it for that much anymore since I have album 2.0 and you can upload directly from there.

Re: Kinoma media player

putting aside some shortcomings (like the player that you don't like), it's still a nifty program and I haven't seen anything quite like it in terms of its up to date content. It's fast, smooth, and well organized. Radio stations come on really fast after you click. I mean you could certainly go find this content elsewhere individually but that would take a really long time. I like it so far.

Re: Kinoma media player

i like the software, but its pretty much the Pitts for video playback. i wish they would focus more on it for video playback! its better to use orb and tcpmp than to use orb on kinoma. that was the one reason i bought it. i thought it would just run better. it doesnt deliver, and i cant get my money back lol. i just use it now for everything i could use it for with the free version. good thing it wasn't paid by me but my brother for a birthday present. just wish i picked more wisely!

I also noticed today that it doesn't support tiff images either (atleast the freeplay)

Re: Kinoma media player

Personally, I would also like to see the video quality improve. Maybe have it auto detect quality, based on connection speed at the time, if user chooses.

Also, I was highly disappointed to find out after purchasing, that Live TV through Orb is not supported. I can log into Orb with my browser and accomplish such a task. Hopefully this feature is being worked on and will be available soon!

Re: Kinoma media player

im considering purchasing this app even tho the 30 bucks is a bit much. Im using the trial version now is there any real reason to get the paid version over using the trial free version?

only thing i would be missing is the ability to download with orb and im guessing upload to facebook or whatever

are there any other apps similiar to this with better video quality thats free? or paid?
