But as always John you make an excellent point. To be completely honest, I reduced my KP usage to browsing youtube and flickr. If I'm not wearing headphones I can't really hear Kinoma very well at all.

Which player are you talking about?

Have you tested this recently? Our audio decoders have always been as fast as anything that's out there, and our video decoders have gotten quite a bit faster since we launched a year ago.

(heck, WMP beats KP hands down in this category)

Kinoma Play has always had the same (sometimes slightly better) performance as WMP for Windows Media playback performance, since both players are using the same API and decoders.

I second the request for a pre-amp feature. That is the one thing that keeps me from using this as a main replacement for streaming Orb.

Hi Charles,

I am an owner of the software through trialplay. I tried to purchase it for my wife today as well using a different offer and I never received my key. I used godaddy a few months ago and we used Blockbuster for her today. I may have been a customer a long time ago of blockbuster, but she never has, and not even under our current address. We got confirmation from blockbuster of the new account, but nothing from trialplay saying the offer was accepted. I tried to use this page:

https://www.trialpay.com/support/proof/

But it keeps telling me not all the fields are filled out, and they are. Help? :)

Edit: Well nevermind, it came about 2 hours later. Not "instant" like GoDaddy was, but still same-day. Thanks Kinoma! :)

Sorry, but this is dead wrong (at least in a TouchPro anyway)

READ THIS

WMP gives hardware accellerated playback, KP does not & the difference in video PB is night & day (especially for h.264 RIPS).

I have been playing with the free version, I can't get it to work in portrait mode on my omnia and it is driving me nuts

Cool, glad to hear the offer was fulfilled relatively quickly. (Thanks for updating your post, too!)

That thread seems to confirm a well-known Windows Mobile problem that we've independently confirmed, which is that (pre-WinMo 6.5, anyway) using DirectDraw is actually a lot slower (buggier too, we found) than blasting video directly to the frame buffer.

Really then, you're not asking Kinoma to support DirectDraw, but to support Qtv. Correct?

Basically that would be the gist of it.
