You mean Kinoma Freeplay? There's always a free version, it just doesn't support everything (mainly streaming video, though youtube works just fine) that Kinoma Play does. Great software, btw, I'll probably be buying it soon.

FreePlay always existed but the latest version with all of the new cool features wasn't available 2 weeks ago. Only the full version.

Warning stay away from the 'reputation defender' offer on trialpay, there is no easy way to cancel it. Or choose this offer with a prepaid CC with a dollar on it. This is my 5th trailpay (xplorer² for pc) and so far its the only hassle.

What's this about the prepaid credit card? I want to get the full version of Kinoma...for as cheap and quickly as possible.

Oh I though you meant one of the trial pay choices was to buy a prepaid giftcard.

I got the Audible one, you just have to keep it for a month. Its only $7.50, and you get a free audio book. This way you are legitimately supporting the developers (by following the rules) and still getting it for cheap. I haven't cancelled the membership yet, but I am pretty sure it wont be problematic. I called them the other day to ask a question about my membership and got a nice call center rep almost right away. I got a link for the app about an hour or two after I signed up.

I'm not trying to rip them off, I'd completely fulfill the trial, I just want to know the easiest way.

Ha I just noticed if you set

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\rtsp\Shell\Open\Command]
to "\Program Files\Kinoma\kp5.exe\" "%1"

now YouTube links and other rtsp launch Kinoma. I wonder why this isn't a default like everything else.

Im sorry, I wasnt trying to insinuate that you were, I was just offering it as a suggestion for anyone who wanted to try it but felt that the 30 dollar price tag was too steep, but still wanted to support the developers. Trust me, I could care less what everyone does, I am no saint myself

Just noticed that theres an update for kinoma today. Just open kinoma, go to settings, and click "check for updates". I havent investigated all of it yet, but i noticed you can now set the "x" button to fully close the app.
