dotfred Softkeys for applications?

Is there something similiar to dotfreds softkeys app for other applications? I am going to send him a suggestion via email, but I would like to change the f'n "Delete" key in the txt msg window to "New" on my VZW Touch.

Thanks in advance!

Application buttons and menu items are almost always hardcoded into the apps themselves. I have never seen a WinMo app that has user-definable interface items, although it is possible in theory - you could load a menu from a csv or xml file, or change the script or code behind a button based on some app setting.

If the interface items are hardcoded, it is essentially impossible for an external app to alter what they do. Again in theory, you could write an app that overlays a transparent grid on the whole screen, detects touches, attempts to analyze what was on the screen in an app underlying that location, and attempts to do something different. But that is A) very difficult and B) would be limited to apps which are built to send and receive data/instructions externally (to the OS, other apps, hardware).
