Mine is the same in landscape and portrait. You can adjust the zoom settings in opera:config under adaptive zoom . Mine is set like this Max zoom 112 , min overveiw zoom 30 , min zoom 100. The smaller the number the less zoom.

Where is this setting area for adaptive zoom?

All I see under settings is Start Page, Display, Privacy, and Advanced and none of those has a sub-category for any kind of zoom.

I dont have any problems between portrait and landscape, I just want to maybe make it so that when I double tape to zoom in, it doesnt zoom as close in as it does.

In the address bar type opera:config and that takes you to the main settings. Adaptive Zoom is the first option.
