Re: Opera Mobile 9.5 offical beta (beta1)

Okay this is the first time this app has ever given me an actual out of memory error... 22MB free RAM, viewing Engadget.com - first page was fine, second page gave me the error.

Other than that though, it runs quite nicely. Not as smooth as, say, Safari, but we've also got resistive touch screens and slower hardware.

Re: Opera Mobile 9.5 offical beta (beta1)

ok after playing around with it some more, I'm getting the keyboard error as mentioned, even if I'm in landscape mode and have my keyboard pulled out the onscreen default keyboard always pops up... Something to mention to them in the forums come Thursday (unless it's fixed by then)

Question Re: Opera Mobile 9.5 offical beta (beta1)

I'm having Keypad issues. Can't use it on xT9 or ABC. Only numbers come up. I can use the keyboard but I can't stand using those tiny keys. Any suggestions? Thanks

Re: Opera Mobile 9.5 offical beta (beta1)

I suppose I'll give this a try. I'm becoming so frustrated with Skyfire's performance recently that I'm willing to try any other browser at the moment. I'll report back.

Wow, okay... I'll just pass on this and keep my little Skyfire. By time I reached my second page load I too recieved the out of memory error and it's kinda annoying how while the page is loading in the background if you scroll around the menus will appear and disappear. But I've say bravo to the Opera Mobile team for improving their code from those leaked builds from months ago...

If only they could get Opera Mini to stream videos like Skyfire I'd have to perfect brower for my PPC.

Re: Opera Mobile 9.5 offical beta (beta1)

Same keyboard issue here with a Mogul. I use Touchpal and it comes up initially but then changes to the MS keyboard. I can switch back but that is inconvenient. None of the earlier versions I tried did that. Other than that it seems better overall than the previous versions. It installs under Program Files now which is the third place I've noticed. As such I have this one, build 1126 and 405 installed. Some pages that loaded ok in 405 that didn't in 1126 now load OK again in this version. Scroll seems better. It has better velocity than 405 and doesn't overshoot if you scroll fast then stop then lift your finger (1126). Landscape mode from the menu is the wrong direction for the Mogul. It imported my previous Opera bookmarks as well as IE's.

Re: Opera Mobile 9.5 offical beta (beta1)

Wow. What a mem hog on my Mogul. I have Oxios Memory assigned to the voice recorder button. I normally press it while using third party apps with no affect on the app. This version of Opera is different - when I press the voice recorder button to launch Oxios, Opera closes.

I actually like the previous leaked version better. Which version comes on the Diamond?
