Change sound profile with power button?

I have searched through many sites, and google in general, and I can't seem to find a way to change my sound profiles with the power button... this would be really useful...

If there was a way to incorporate this into a program like phonealarm, I'd be in love...

Is it possible to reprogram the power button, on say, an HTC Vogue?

No one has tried this? Practically every non-PDA phone does this.... heck, I think even smartphones do it... I know the blackjack does...

I use Spb Mobile Suite. It's today plugin lets you can change the profile from the Today screen.

Thanks, but I find it kind of annoying to have to always use the touch screen for such basic operations... I should be able to mute/change sound profiles without using a today plugin...

I guess some things about SmartPhones will just never make it to the PPCs...

you know... like basic phone stuff!
