Re: All S2U2 customizations

I've tried searching through this thread, the one on xda-dev and on google for some kind of index to figure out which graphic file appears where and/or when.
I can obviously do this using trial and error, but it kind of feels like reinventing the wheel. Seeing how many sites and threads exist for S2U2 themes, I'm surprised that I couldn't find such a thing easily.
So, have I missed it? Or haven't anyone thought about doing that?

The reason I'm looking for such a thing is that I wanted to have a theme that fits well with the .sencity theme and so far I only managed to do clocks and sliders because I'm new to this (not being a graphic designer I'm only reusing what I extracted from cabs and manilla files). Already asked the designer/creator for permission and he doesn't mind anyone reusing his graphics as long as credit is given).

Re: All S2U2 customizations

If you view the gfx folder on your PC and also read the S2U2 Settings Description.xls file at the same time you can get a better idea of what the more important graphic files are used for.

When I make my themes I only use the graphics for the lock and phone screens. I don't bother with the settings and S2P graphics. I usualy don't bother with the buttons.png as I always have the Slide to End feature turned On. I also don't bother with the curtain graphics, ie topbar.png, since I usually leave all the curtains off.

I guess if you want a full theme then you can just redo every graphic file to your liking.

I have to admit though that there are a few files that I don't know when they are used, ie arrowR.png. I suppose you can email A_C and ask him what each file is used for.

Re: All S2U2 customizations

Does anyone know how to make S2U2 permanently disable the WM6.5 native lock ? Whenever I hit the lock button on Start menu, it brings up the native lock instead of S2U2. Checking that option off and on again and saving it in S2U2 settings helps for only a short while.

Also, is there the sliding lock for S2U2 similar to that of Android ?

I'm assuming you're using the latest version of S2U2, v2.43. First try this. In the advanced S2U2 setting set the "Replace WM6.5 system manual lock" to off, then save the settings. Then go back into the settings, set it to on, save it, then reset your device. If it still doesn't work then install the cab file below. That should do it.

First thing you want to do young DC is get the entire S2U2 gfx folder onto your computer. This will show you in a visual way what each part of the application's images functions are. Most people learn this way. once you learn the files and what their functions are, it will be easier for you to learn wht to do whit your Dad's Art. For instance Start with the Battery files. The File extensions are .png (transparant background). The Battery parts for a basic S2U2 theme are Batteryg.png, Battery1.png, Battery2.png, and Battery3.png. Once you have all of the S2U2 gfx folder files on your Computer, you can now see what the files look like, the file exstentions, and most importantly what they look like in the theme it self. Learning the parts of the S2U2 is very crucial to cutomizing the Theme. Lets say you customized your own battery. To implement your design, you would simply have to replace the original or current Battery files with your own. When you install your custom battery.png files, you will get an error message asking if you want to overite the file because a file with that name already exist. If you don't care about setting the S2U2 Theme back to stock just simply click overwrite. If you might decide to go back to the stock Theme, then you will need to rename the originasl or stock files prior to installing your own customized battery.png files. I always back my original files up by renaming them battery.pngo etc. (o for original). After you have installed new files in the S2U2 gfx folder, you always have to go to Start/Programs/S2u2/Settings and click ilock2. You must do this each time you install new files in the gfx folder or the theme will not launch properly. to customize the Clck is simular, except the files for the clock are located in the S2U2/gfx/Clock folder. I hope this will at least get you started. Any help you need just post here and we all will be glad to help you especially because of who your Dad is. Good luck Young DC.
