WP Image Tutorial
2 Attachment(s)
Since this theme is centered around exploiting WeatherPanel's ability to capture images from the internet, here's a tutorial to help folks get the stuff they want...

Just awesome! Thanks you once again storyr. :D

great job story.
thanks, cody |
this is actually something I've been looking for, just something really nice and simple to show current conditions :)
|
Is there anyway to use WeatherPanel with WP-Pilot within PocketBreeze?
|
is there anyway to update this so it shows tomorrow's high/low in the corner or anything?
|
Awesome work!!! Thanks!!!

Looks great story... especially with WAD... do you find that WAD slows your Treo at all?
I'm thinking of investing in it, but have read some rants about here in ppcgeeks... just curious and sorry for the off-topic remark... thx in advance for any advice/feedback you can offer... |

On a Side note, do you think you'll make anything that shows the current conditions with the next day or two in the forecast? Something akin to Yahoo! Widgets' default weather widget? |
As much as I like this skin I like Chameleon more so I've gone back to it. It just means no more large Phone Alarm skins. This way I don't have to insert WP as a tab in Pocket Breeze. It can be on it's own and allow me to utilize WP Pilot.

I knew it would be too tall for some folks, and besides - WP-Pilot is a must! :D |

After the pop-up is displayed, hit "right" on the d-pad and the forecast will go to the next day - up to 10 days worth. "Up" and "down" cycles the cities... |
I love it very easy to use :D

Easy was the idea. I use a powered cradle in my car - I wanted this theme to be easy to navigate with one finger while in stop-and-go traffic. BTW, does anyone have any feedback on the WP Image Capture Tutorial (found here)? If there are any mistakes or improvements that could be made, feedback would be appreciated... |

Unfortunately, the only Washington DC traffic cams that I can use are through trafficland.com and they have some kind of timestamp in their image URL that will time out if it is not updated by a browser post... bummer. But still, thanks for the guide and the skins! |
Love weather panel.....
One quick question though....I am trying to install the moon phase fix, and I have the weatherpanel.dll unzipped, and the instructions say to replace the old file with the new one (weatherpanel.dll), the problem is that I can't find the file in the weatherpanel program folder in my device....has anybody done this, or be able to help me do the fix?

Also, how often do you update? |
installed it about 5 days ago. i have it set to update every 30 mins but i click update from time to time though out the day. especially yesterday cause we had really bad storms and i was looking at the radar. and everytime i softreset it shows this same N/A icon and the rest of the theme is empty except my city and the word "Moon xx%" but no moon image.
|
|
yes. i installed the moon update fix through 2008 and also the moon fix for "g" 1-13 profiles as well. i have weatherpanel v2.5 and the v2 of the Chameleon skin. i figured out it's pretty much basically every time i refresh the today screen. after coming out of the today settings for example.

hello Storyr...
I have been using Doreen Skin For a while now wich i like .lately i had ask her if she can help me. I'm a surfer and as a surfer you want to know the ocean condition at any time.waves, tide, wind ,ocean condition etc...... Doreen was able to show me a way to put those images from this site wich was amazing achievement for me and those images get updated every 30 min so i get lots of info from that. now . Doreen has been telling that your the man to talk about this issue as far using codes that can give me the ocean conditions tide and ect..... cuz she has more visual experience with this program and you will have more knowlegde with coding.here is the posts : can you please let me know if you up for it? this feature will do it for me and lots more surfers that will thanks you both...so far this program amazed me so ill be really stoke to see thos info with it. thank a lot . |

The main reason is this: WeatherPanel gets its weather information from a weather.com web service. I've analyzed the data that weather.com sends, and none of this information is in it. Secondly, even if it was, WeatherPanel doesn't have the layout commands to show it. I think someone would have to write a custom solution for surfers, which would be cool 8) But, you couldn't make any money at it, 'cause surfers don't have any money  |
