It has been brought up to my attention that if WP is purchased from the MarsWare site you may get a registration code. I will do some more research on the matter.

In no way I mean to take revenue from the developer, I just did not want anyone to lose their money.

The fact still remains though, that the developer has been missing for 2+ years, and even if we buy a registration code, we are paying for what we have now and most likely will not receive further updates to WP itself from the developer.

It is also worth mentioning, that WP checks against the MarsWare server every time it updates, so at the moment that server goes down (MarsWare's forums went down some time ago, the main site was still up last time I checked), WP may stop working.

Anyway, that was the latest info I have... although it may be a little outdated.

hahha, yep i installed son-of-c last night.. wonderful!
blends with the background, displays 4 days, and bigger pictures!

after immediate install, it wasnt scaled horizontally properly, so all i did was adjust it from bottom to top on the today screen config, and it scaled wide properly and displayed 4 days instead of 3. Just FYI to those curious.

If this ever happens, I'll release a little program that I developed called WP-Auth (from Uranusware, of course :wink: )

When installed, it will bypass the Marsware authorization step - rerouting the authorization request to another IP address (my company). I haven't auth'ed at Marsware for over 6 months... :D

Wow, that's great to know. Marsware Authorization has been a concern of all of us that were around when Martian vanished.
Sort of like waiting for a ticking clock to stop, but, so far it keeps ticking!

I wonder if there is a way to stop the checks and route the checks to possibly weather.com instead.

The weather info does come from weather.com IIRC, WP just checks against the MarsWare server to make sure the app is valid or something like that.

budney, I don't recall where, however, I do recall reading someone was able to run WP on WM6 with no issues.

ok - I am having the same issue - where the images are not updating at all. I am DC as well. however, I found some camera images that do update fine. For example, this image seems to update fine:

But all the other images i've tried either give me a black screen after a certain amount of time, or just never update and stay on the old image:

Yout first link has an HTML extension, so I don't think WP will recognize it. Try this link for the direct JPG image: http://www.dpwt.com/jpgcap/capture/9136315.13.jpg

The second link says it expired, so if the link itself changes everytime the image is updated by them, WP won't be able to use it since what WP does is take a copy of the same file over and over assuming that the same file is updated with a new picture.

Because of this theme's "special feature" of showing the actual moon phases, it cannot be made clear.

BUT - I've attached a mod for the Son-of-Commuter-240 theme (which is clear) to make it the same size as this one. So essentially, you'll get what you're looking for - a clear Commuter-240 theme.

Just install Son-of-Commuter-240-QVGA (and it's icons), then download the zip and drop the two files into the Son-of-Commuter-240 folder on your device. Then select ls6tt-Commuter-240 in your WP settings.

I was able to get the true pic location, but with firefox you have to choose "copy image location". If you go to "properties", you just get the site URL, not the pic's location.

These images have a time stamp in the name which changes constantly. WeatherPanel has to link to an image which always has the same name.

I followed the traffic camera tutorial and added the URL's to the radar.txt file. however when I go to add an image nothing shows up in the drop down box, what gives?
