it's in very early beta stages but i been using it for a month now. basically mesh allows you to add any kind of device (ppc, laptop, desktop, etc) and allow them to stay synchronized.

for example, i put music in my desktop folder and a few minutes later its synchronized to my device. this is really good if you have friends with a ppc. everyone "shares" a directory and all devices synch up to all have the music.

there is a bunch of other stuff like remote desktop to any pc on your mesh, virtually... you also get 5GB~ to store whatever.

im not sure how long the waiting list is, but i got in a month ago.

i signed up, but what exactly is this useful for? it doesnt currently support mobile or anyhting other than pc, correct?

i sgned up as well. it looks like its good for your pc now but mobile is in the works. not having to install anything makes it a step better than dropbox BUT i know that i can access files thru dropbox on my phone. umm looking again, mesh does have a program to download. hmmmm. oh well no installing software at the office so a manual sync will have to do. same as dropbox.

I have been trying to log in as well ever since I saw their blog posting. Can't wait to try it out, but I'm getting a login error. Anyone have access to the .cab?

Edit: Actually, as I read the URL on the error page, I see "https://www.mesh.com/Web/Error.aspx&msg=ineligibleForPromo"! Nooo! How could that be? I've been a Mesh user since day one and I use it every day! Argh.

Here's the error code on the page :

"Unknown Error.

I was able to download the client and get it running but I'm getting an "Unable to validate the user on Live Mesh. Please check your connection settings and Retry, or Cancel to exit."

Ack. I get a message "Live Mesh was unable to find a suitable version of SQL CE on this device. Unable to install Live Mesh."

I'm running Nuerom 3 pre3. Where do I get the version of SQL that I need?

not sure about SQL CE... but MS said that everyone is experiencing the login validation error and that is being worked on right now.
