google maps and live search, just use your internal gps and internet connection.

What exactly are you looking for? Turn by turn directions, no data connection required, points of interest, street name announcements, etc. Which features do you want and are important to you?

Not sure what you're going to find for free other than the already mentioned Google Maps and Live Search. I use TomTom and it works great on both my Touch and Mogul with the built-in gps. Gives turn by turn directions and works without a data connection. You will however need at least 1gb of free space on your sd card for the maps.

Re: Free gps???? With out some external card?

http://www.nav4all.com/

http://www.amazegps.com/

Both are free. On my xv6800 Nav4All needs a primer program to get working, and lost it's connection before getting to my house. amAze did not need a primer but seems a bit buggy and locked up my phone. It also does not keep the screen active, so the phone goes into suspend and shut off the GPS.

Directions from both were hit or miss. amAze practically argued with me for 20 minutes before recalculating my route to take the nearby highway.

Honestly I prefer Windows Live Search over them both. It just works, finds the route that I want to take, and beeps at me when I get close to a turn. amAze will be very nice once they work out some of the WM issues.
