I had a similar problem when I cleared my channel cache and tried to log on to reload it. The app would either sit n spin while loading channel info or would give the "cannot load channel info" error.
I took a peek at the us channels xml doc and it looked OK.
Reinstalled the app. Channels xml doc had the "OTB" date/time stamp, fired up the app and logged on. Channels loaded, no problems. Looked at the channels XML doc again. Its date/time stamp was updated to date/time of the logon.
No problems loading channels since.

It appears you may have been bitten with the $2.99/mo. fee for online radio. SiriusXM has just changed their pricing policy so that you no longer get online Sirius for free. I believe they are enforcing this once you renew your account, but not 100% sure.

Sirius is returing the following error when you log in, and it appears C-ApiSRO isn't handling this error properly due to the new changes. I will have to fix C-ApiSRO to handle this more gracefully.
Sirius Error: Sorry, your subscription package does not include access to Sirius Internet Radio. You'll need to add SIRIUS Premium Internet Radio to your subscription.

Other than handling the error more gracefully, there isn't much I can do for you; sorry.

Edit:
I can't help you with your subscription, but maybe you can help me. I modified C-ApiSRO to handle that error more gracefully, but I can't test it because I do not get this error from Sirius. Please do me a HUGE favor and unzip the C-ApiSRO_Debug.exe file from the attached file and attempt to log in. Put the file in "Program Files\C-Apisro\" folder. C-ApiSRO should give you an "Insufficient Privileges" error. This would be of tremendous help and make it so others will know what is going on with their subscription. Thanks.

Hey R-Capi, I see you are back to work at it. Can I ask you to move the captcha screen. Last version I tried the on screen keyboard would pop up over the captcha and I would have to open and close it to remember all the numbers/letters. I'm on a VGA Diamond,, thanks!!

This has already been fixed and will be in the next release, which is very soon.

The $2.99/month is for CD quality on-line listening. If you have a subscription you can still listen on line without paying the extra cost. It just doesn't sound as good.

If you have a month to month you will get cut off when your account gets rebilled. If you have a yearly subscription, you will have access until it is time for you to reup. That is what I was told a month or so ago.

That is the way it USE to be. From now on you will be REQUIRED to pay for your online radio service, and that cost is $2.99/mo. Once you renew your current subscription you will no longer have access to online streaming unless you pay that fee.

This is SiriusXM's way of alienating their loyal customers. It will provide almost NO NEW BUSINESS. Why would you pay for online radio from Sirius if you can get it for free elsewhere? It is foolish on their part and I suspect they will change it back soon.

I just re-upped my yearly a couple weeks ago, the $2.99/mth is for CD quality sound. I'm not paying that and still have internet service to go along with my radio.

You just got renewed in time. The cutoff was March 10 or 11. After that any renewals follow the new rules.

Okay this has got me pissed off, I have a lifetime subscription and was told that I would not have to pay for internet radio. The other day when I first got this error, somehow I was still able to listen online with my computer, that was the first thing I checked, but now it tells me i need to upgrade.

I will still try that debug file for you and get you a log, sorry it took me a few days to get back to this thread but hang in there a few more hours and I'll get it for you.

Thanks soooooo much, you are the man! srsly....

If you have a lifetime subscription you do not have to pay for Internet. Call Sirius and tell them they messed up your account.

+1

Back in February, I got the "upgrade" notice. Converted both subscriptions, one that I had renewed in October and one set to expire in March, to lifetime after confirming with the CSR that would lock me in to the free internet radio. The account still shows free internet listening for both radios.

I just renewed for a year last week, and they gave me internet stream for free I told them if I didn't get it I wouldn't continue their services. I wasn't bluffing, so they gave it to me with the $77 yearly rate. My internet stream didnt work, I called and there is something you have to do on your end. After the log in screen you need to cllick on the left side where it says "Update Radio ID" after that my stream worked online and through this program. HTH

Is there anyway to update the channel list on the xm side? I don't mind doing it myself it is possible and not too complex. I've just noticed that when I try to listen to Liquid Metal is always plays Mandatory Metallica. Not that I mind the Metallica, but it does get old after a while.

edit - nvm its a month long thing checked the site

Thanks for this update. That information will be useful for others when they experience the same problem.

This app is great, however it tends to bog down my phone, make it real laggy. After 45min or listening or so, I'll have to soft-reset my phone to do anything else with it. My solution is to wait for the TP2's faster processor and more ram.

Mine quit working too. I removed it and reloaded, but still nothing. I get unable to connect. Please make sure your user information is correct , and you have a valid network connection. I no longer get the box where you have to type the letters like on the Sirius online page for validation. Any suggestions?

Re: C-ApiSRO - Sirius/XM Satellite Radio for PocketPC (PPC)

A few things.

First I'd like to thank you for working on this. Great project you've got here! I searched forever and couldn't find an app like this. I actually started developing my own but was running into some problems and came across this. This looks almost exactly how I had in mind and works great!

I saw that you were thinking about sharing the code. Would it be possible to get my hands on your source? I see you require .net. Did you use C#?

I'd love to try to add 2 features right off the bat:
1) I have a Samsung Omnia and the screen rotates to landscape with the accelerometers. Your app looks a little funky that way and I'd like to make it work well in landscape.
2) I was planning to have a presets page as well as the list of all the stations. You could add like 6 preset stations that will always show the Station, current song and current artist so you can quickly switch between favorites and already know what is playing there.

I'm using XM, but I'm sure Sirius wouldn't be much different. I'm familiar with how connecting works, the cookies they use, and the xml tags used to retrieve station, artist, and track information.

Please let me know if I can be of assistance. I'd be sure to post here any changes I made and credit you for the existing code.

Thanks.

Well I can listen to my Sirius account online, and I'm using the same user name and password that I would use when listening on my home PC, so it should work, it did in the past. Now I don't even get the validation image box like I use to, any thoughts? I'm sure that's why I can't log on, the validation image must be input correctly, but I no longer have the box and picture of the validation image so that i can type it in. Please help R-Capi.

If you want help then e-mail me some log files. There is plenty of information on how to do that throughout this thread. NO NOT USE YOUR REAL ACCOUNT. Create a temporary guest account before capturing log files. Also make sure your phone has internet access. No captcha image generally means C-ApiSRO doesn't have access to the Sirius website.

Great app. Thanks for your hard work. I have been using since 01/09.

Since Xm updated to 128k I am getting repeats (... Hello I love love you...) in the feed on both high and low speeds. Does anyone else have this issue?

I have signed up for Sirius for a month and do not have the same issue.

I am using a Touch Pro on Sprint. This is an issue even when i have the phone stationary with a connection greater than 400k.

I also am having no luck in Canada. the app was working perfectly until yesterday morning. Is it at all possible if my provider, Bell, has sniffed out this programs usage and has somehow managed to block something to make the audio stop playing. It's strange because a coworker at my office with the same phone, HTC Touch, has the same problem as me. I would be great to hear from a Telus or Rogers user to see if their setus are still working.

Looking on HowardForums it appears there are problems with other apps that use TCPMP.

Thanks for listening to us R-capi!!

irieguy I'm on telus in canada and it doesn't work for me. Everything else I use still works fine. I'm pretty sure it would have been a change to the canadian Sirius feed as american users say it works fine still. Just be patient I'm sure R-capi will figure it out when he has the time.
