Lock screen while using the phone

I have a Verizon XV6800 WM6 phone. When I'm on the phone I seem to causing other applications to launch by either my face rubbing against the touch screen or accidentally clicking on the hardware buttons. For instance today I accidentally clicked in the IE button with my ear.

Is there a way to lock out all of the buttons and the on screen touch but perhaps the green or red phone buttons when the phone is in use? Of course there are "soft keys" in the dialing application itself but just a toggle button to block the others or reactive the others would work.

Any ideas?

Re: Lock screen while using the phone

S2U2 will turn the screen off during calls if you wish. There's another app out there that will do the same, but the name escapes me.

Edit: Pocketshield. Here it is: http://www.pocketshield.net/default.htm
