IIRC it's not something you download. You sign up for their service, then you can call the special Jott number and send texts via voice.

Re: Speech to text software?

I was hoping that I wouldn't have to rely on a third party service...as in software would just do it through the phone and type the text in the texting window.

You sign up for the service and when you need to do something like text, e-mail, make a note, etc, then you call the jott number and tell it what you need to do. The actual download is not for us, it's for iPhones and is basically a voice recorder app.

Agreed:
Here is the site:
http://jott.com/default.aspx
All you do is sign up, and call, there is no download don't pay any attention to that. After you sign up, call 866-JOTT-123 from your phone, say the contact name, and tell Jott what to do (text, email...) and say the body of text you want to send. Jott will verify it, and send when you approve.

It isn't the best way for a bit text disscussion, but for the little messages you need to send on the road, it works great, I use it all the time!!!!

Something free would be better.

Jott is free and it requires no installation of 3rd party software on your phone.

What I want is something I can have locally that is free, essentially a cab file that does this. IDK if Voice Command did this before but I don't think it works with WM6.1 even.

That program does not support HTC devices.
