Under settings/menu/advanced settings the picture size can be adjusted, except now I don't remember if this is for sending or receiving.

Sorry I still don't see any area where I can change the resolution under advanced settings.
I tried from the main sMMS menu & from an actual composed sMMS screen.

I know I am not blind or stupid but all it gives me in the advanced settings are:
Anadvanced box with Subject - Message - Recepient - Save location - Enable intercept - sent confirmation

Aha! My next suggestion was going to be to check to see if you have the latest version, as that option was added in the last couple of updates.
