Here is the forum for the Touch Pro. Lots of information there.

Re: sMMS Picture Mail Composer

I'm getting ready to do a hard reset. Basically going to start from scratch. I've donated and have been running sMMS (love it). After the hard reset do I just install the cab once again? I cannot track down the email confirmation from the donation. Do I need to donate once again?

Fishy's right. It also depends where it's installed. If it is installed to device, I would suggest copying over the sMMS folder somewhere like storage card so your synced stuff, skins, and other stuff won't get lost. Reinstall the cab, put in user info and you should be good.

Re: sMMS Picture Mail Composer

once the hard reset and you install the CAB go in to the sMMS settings and place your phone # and PW as before and that should do it

Re: sMMS Picture Mail Composer

Does this application get around the problem of sending large pictures (above 2mp) with Sprint Picturemail? I have a HTC Touch Pro with the 3mp camera, if I try and send 3mp pictures to my Girlfriend on Verizon they never arrive, 2mp works.

I was told there was an update to Picturemail to fix this, but it hasn't for me. Kind of a pain having to keep my camera at 2mp just in case I want to SMS a pic to a friend.

Re: sMMS Picture Mail Composer

You can try it, but it isn't a problem with Sprint picmail or sMMS. Verizon has problems with large pix, an issue SomeGuy has dealt with from the beginning. The larger pix are not received on some carriers, Verizon being at the top of the list.

This is not completely true. I have several friends on Verizon and they get my 3mp pics just fine. In fact, they get the pics usually in less than a minute or so.

Any update on the intercept? This would make sMMS just about perfect. Sprint Picmail is so hit and miss that most of the time I don't even know I have a new picmail unless I go online to check. At least with sMMS I can check my inbox messages from my phone (Sprint Touch Pro).

Thanks

Actually it is true but the issue is not the resolution but the file size that is a side effect of the large image resolution. Verizon, like sprint has a fairly low allowed file size, like 250 -300kb. If you took a picture with a fairly low amount of detail and color, the image size will be reduced because of the lack of colors in the image, increasing the chances of delivery.

BTW, I was told if you can uninstall the Touch Pro/Diamond standard PM app, it will disable the flag that causes TF3D to intercept the message before it gets to anyother application. Still waiting on the details on how to perform the uninstall.

Install the update cab, it will uninstall the Picture Mail from Sprint, then it will try to install the new one. Cancel the install of the new one. Voila.
