Lightbulb Buttonless (MS) Voice Command?

So, here's my situation:

After I go to the gym, I like to go to the hot tub. That's simple. What I do is put my Mogul in my backpack and play music through my HT820 Motorola headphones. Also easy. Problem is: I have to shuffle through my WHOLE collection of music (Via the 'forward' or 'backward' buttons on above the speaker on the right ear) on my storage card to get anywhere, which can take minutes sometimes. Enter MSVC.

This seemed like the best thing for my needs, the only problem is that it requires hitting the blasted Voice Command button on the phone in order for it to do anything. Which, in my case, is not exactly possible (As the steam would probably degrade/destroy my phone). So, I was wondering whether or not it was possible to assign the Voice Command button to the right "M" button on the headphones. Unfortunately, after pairing the devices on the offchance that that button showed up under the "buttons" menu, I realized it wasn't going to be quite that easy. So... In summation... Is this possible at all, or is there some other means of accomplishing it?

Re: Buttonless (MS) Voice Command?

I like that idea, and would love to use it myself (even though i'm like 5 feet from my phone i'd rather just say "next song" or something.

I'm wondering if you couldn't modify the "m" button to open up the voice command, much like on my headset the button opens the voice dialing...

Unhappy Re: Buttonless (MS) Voice Command?

That's kind of what I'm shooting for, and would certainly be ideal. I just... Don't have the faintest hint of skill in figuring out how to do that.

Re: Buttonless (MS) Voice Command?

I'm sort of curious as to what would happen if you remapped the hardkey...would that in effect remap the key of the headset. I'm inclined to think not, however.

Re: Buttonless (MS) Voice Command?

Really? I probably should have tried that... But... I didn't. Blast. I wasn't sure if the VC button would be mapped to the same function as the voice dial-esque button on the headset. I wish I was at home to try it. I may have jumped the gun but I figured that the two would be completely separate.

Stupid me. I'm definitely gonna try it when I get back home though and make sure that the function doesn't already exist.

Re: Buttonless (MS) Voice Command?

Update: No, it doesn't work. Pushing the "M" buttons on the left or right ear aren't associated with VC. The right one plays or stops the music, the left one just beeps now and does nothing, where it used to bring up voice dial. I think I may have disabled voice speed dial. So now that button does nothing, where it COULD be doing something useful like being the VC button, and solving my dilemmas.

So does anyone know how I would be able to map the left button on the HT820 to VC?

Re: Buttonless (MS) Voice Command?

well this was bugging me so i went and dug up my ht820 that i had retired since the s9 came out (it has much better audio quality but it never fit right on my big goofy noggin so it got thrown in a box in the closet)

i charged it for a bit and paired it up and it worked perfectly ... i tried it with various MSVC commands and had no problems ...

sorry if you aready mentioned this but ... what device and rom are you using? mine is in my sig ..
also ... i assume you have MSVC 1.6?
