Best thing to do is to un-install the previous version & delete any additional files associated with it if your having that issue. Then install the NEW .cab you just downloaded from their site.

I have a touch and it worked so im guessing it goes the same for the mogul.... have ur phone hooked to the comp....if u have aim installed on ur computer and im pretty sure u do go to settings and then go to the tab that says sound...it should be set to the incoming aim sound...u kno the popular sound that aim is known for...it shoould say "imrcv.wav" in the file section....click browse and drag that imrcv file onto ur phone...put it in a place wheres it easy to find...like my documents. Then on your phone go to that and highlight and hit copy....then go file explorer, go to my device.open up application data and click on sounds...paste the imrcv.wav in there. then go to settings.... sounds and notifications...click notifications..and hit the drop down box at the top...u should see "Jivetalk:New Aim"...click that and hit that second drop down box and set that imcrv file to it...make sure play sound is checked also.. and i have my set to vibrate also...so i always kno when i have a new message. and thats it there u go...u kno have a loud and clear aim notification sound...the famous aim sound at that...lol!!

This is from the log file, however the error pops up in the main UI as it connects to my 4 accounts (Yahoo, GTalk, AOL and MSN).

I had the same problem. if you go to menu----> advanced-----> delete key. then menu----> advanced-----> get key to reactivate your jivetalk it should work. At least it did for me. Try it and see what happens.

I've since switched back to my Touch, which is running 6.1. I have the same "Can't save log file" errors that the others are having. Thanks, though.

It is kind of strange that the developer pretty much disappeared from here. I just checked the BeeJive website, and the version that they say is current is 0.5.2.10 now, for anyone that is interested. Doesn't seem to help my situation any though...same errors. I hope they get a version that fixes these issues out soon.

Anyone else had problems signing into yahoo? I keep getting login timed out, but it signed into msn with no problems.

Also, my gripe about the program.. it only shows display names (at least with MSN)... I'm currently talking to "amanda"... unfortunately, I have 4 amanda's on my list and have NO IDEA which one I'm talking to, lol

I could be wrong, but i dont think its an issue with windows 6.1. i believe it was earlier said that it was that some people who make custom roms rip out SQL CE from their roms before they post them. unfortunatley for us who are using roms that are put together as such, I dont believe that anyone has posted a link that will enable us to get SQL CE installed on our phones. there was one post i believe on the 3rd page that was helpful, but it only installed it on the computer, and not on the phone. I'm still hoping someone will help us out and post a link to an installer that will install on our phones, or a cab.

meatlocker 04-18-2008 11:43 AM

Re: JiveTalk Alpha

When you install SQL CE to your PC, it puts a folder in the product that contains the cab that you need. In fact, there are a number of cabs, but the only one you need is the ARM cab. Install that as usual to your device. Voila - SQL CE.
However, even in doing this (along with making sure that I have .Net installed), the product still does not work for me, and according to the good folks at BeeJive that I have been working with, they are aware and trying to fix it.

2 questions:

1) For those of us who flash to the most current rom and run UC scripts, it would be great if we didn't have to redo the settings every time.

is there a way to save your settings and preferences and load those with a fresh install? perhaps a pref file or registry settings.

2) Is there a way to have the program load at boot and log in to all accounts as well?

Great program. this saves my family money on text messages if they are by their computer and I am on the road. can't wait for the official release.
Thanks

1. All setup and chat history data are saved on the SqlCE database in the Program directory
"\Program Files\JiveTalk". Just back up the database file and drop it in to the same spot after reinstalling the app post-flashing, it should reload all your settings. This only works if you're restoring onto the same device. The database is hashed using your device ID.

2. We will likely make this an option when we add the Today plugin.

I don't see that... or have that! I'm on the HTC Touch Dual, one of the worst battery times i've ever seen in my life compared to my Blackberry, and it is gentle. Very gentle :). I love it. I keep it on all day, and all night. I hardly disconnect it and it works wonders!

The only current problem is that it's in the Alpha phase, that alone should give some reasons :) hehe.
If you've ever tried the Blackberry version, You'll love this version I bet, when it does come out. Lol.
