With over a 1000 downloads of the previous versions that was hosted on another site. i have decided to host it here at PPCGEEKS instead. With only 22 replies/questions on the other site and hundreds over there, I thought the switch was needed. The reason I put it there in the first place is because it was a mortscript type app and that was were it all started.

Anyhow....

...Personalizer... For all those who are customizing their devices... I made this for you. It will change the operators name everywhere on your device. It will surive a softreset. It has an icon called "Personalizer" in the programs menu so you can change it when ever you want. There is now an option to stop the change if you want as well.

No more SprintPCS anywhere on your screen. No more verizon wireless either. customize it the way you want.

This will work with the HTC plugin, spb phonesuite, wisbar, pointUI, slide2unlock... just about everything. If you want your Operators name back... just uninstall it from the add/remove programs. should work on most htc devices, and treos.

Update... Ok, below is the 3.1 cab version. 3.0 was missing one very inportant thing that prevented it from working. The OEM version 3.0 is the same version. It didn't need a fix.

CAB INSTALL... Since the 3.0 version was so messed up, I am asking you to remove (uninstall) the older versions VIA settings/add-remove programs. Normally one version will over-write the other, but since I changed the name of the app (by mistake) you could actually have two version loaded at the same time. Unistall all old apps before installing.
This Cab version can now be installed in main memory or the SD card. I dont know if it can be installed into extended ROM yet.

OEM_Packet... This version is for the cooks. If you are cooking your own ROMs and want this programs install in the ROM, this is what you want. Please note that you MUST also install the MORTSCRIPT OEM_Package as well.

for now... i want to explain version 3.0. bug

i was making a OEM_Packet version for a friend and when i finished it i relized i made some good improvments to app. i figured it was worth a cab version updated as well. since i have no beta testers i did my own testing. little did i know... i was using files that were left over from the OEM version while using the cab version. everything was working good for me because i had files where they needed to be. later i relized that with just using the plain jane cab version files were missing.

this is why people didn't get it to show icon in the program list, auto start after soft reset, ect.

bottom line.... everyone that uses the app should uninstall the old version and install 3.1

people have know idea how long i spent on this... you wouldn't belive i am just a plumber with a hobby. lol.


to get your screenshots on the site like i did you need to get something like photobucket (FREE) to host your pictures. after you upload it you would then take the img url and put it in your post. for example... the picture you see is just this line added to the post ... http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...0/screen-3.jpg it also has the [img] at the begining and [/img] at the end.

Thanks Cody. I was about to post that the 3.0 cab didn't work. Glad this thread came up on the top of the search. Seems like all it working now on No2Chem's 5049 rom. Will be flashing to the 5058 soon and installing it there as well.

hello all:
first id like to say what a great app you made. here is my problem. i am running a custom wm 6.1 rom that i cooked in DCD's 3.0.1 kitchen for my verizon XV6800. so of course i have sprint logos everywhere. i am ocd so that annoys me lol. so i installed personalizer 3.1 cab, then i made a folder in my documents called mortscript.. where as u guessed i put the mortscript zip, i also placed the 3.0 oem files in there as well. i ran the personalizer from the programs folder and it worked, i soft reset my phone and my sprint logos came back... what am i doing wrong? thanks all

App works wonderfully...thanks Cody. Although I do have one question....my home plugin is integrated w/ultimate launcher but the personalizer forces the plugin in addition to the already present launcher on my today screen after a soft reset. I downloaded the 3.1 cab. How can I make it stop?

A quick soft reset fixed that problem...but now the MortScript delay causes my phone to freeze up and then go to the active sync page. It completely freezes and I can't do anything, not even use the power button to shut up. Can someone please help?

you did not need the mort stuff or the oem files. these were just for those who needed this style for cooking roms. you sound as if you are just running normal cab file type installation.

one thing to keep in mind is after you run personalizer, you have to wait 60 seconds before a soft reset. this app is changing a registy key. registry changes take a minute to fully write. this is why you need to wait a minute. normally you wouldn't change it right before a reset.

279 downloads and you are the first. dont take this the wrong way but i think your problem is a user error. lol.

the poster before you was also missunder stood when it came to what files you are to install.

what exactly did you install? when you say mortscript what do you meen? how do you know?

i would love to help but need to know more. if you would... lets take this to PM's in fact i want you to send me the apps that you are also using like the ultimate launcher.

this versoin is solid. i have a few darn good beta testers as well as 279 downloads with no problems. i have spent over a hundred hours on this app. not to say there wont be a new version... i just dont think it is going to be due to bug fixes.

.. i said i was running a custom rom, anyways i desprintized my phone reflashing with ther verizon rom and a whole bunch of jargon, i still think its a great app, keep up the good work

I agree, great app. but I am having the same issue. I have only downloaded the 3.1 version and I also have the UL with my home plugin integrated. After a soft reset I have to go into settings/personal/today to uncheck the Home plugin because it comes up twice. This happens each time I have to soft reset. I have had no other issues. I am running the stock rom on the Touch.

the weather app is Xcast. you can find it here. 3.2 version is the lastest and greatest.

On the today screen it lets me change the "sprint pcs" to whatever I want but that's the only thing it's giving me the option to change? Am I missing something?

When customizing my PPc, this is one of the first apps that I install. I love this and I appreciate all the work that went into putting it together and sharing it with all of us.

Previously i instaleed the 2.0 version but it didnt work out! (i have a cooked 6.1 rom)

I downloaded the 3.1 version, and i installed it, but, i dont know where i need to go to change te carrier text!

Yes, but as I understand it, it needs to monitor and change as needed. This is changed throughout the time the phone is active. You can't just change it, because eash soft reset seems to reset the carrier and other conditions seem to reset it as well.

this app looks great. i havent tried it out yet but it looks as if you can only change the operator's name... what i want to do is just completely delete that bar from htc home, as in delete the line where AT&T sits and the date so i can have more room on my today screen. this can probably be done with a registry editor but i dont like to mess with that on my own. any tips to get rid of the date as well? great job once again thanks for the hard work.

This is a reay cool application but it doesn't play nice with Ultimate Launcher. I installed it with UL as my only today screen app checked. When I ran the personalizer it froze my phone after changing my today screen. I reset phone and noticed that the fix did not stick and it added HTC Home to my today sceen causing UL to be pushed to the bottom. I unchecked UL then ran personalizer. I then reset and the fix was there. I unchecked HTC then rechecked UL and it worked fine. I have HTC on one of the UL tabs so I guess it was causing a conflict when it changed today settings. Not sure why running this program would cause the HTC Home plugin to be added to the today screen.

I tried it on 3 ROMs, and with both this app cause all my home screen plug ins to dissapear until I uninstalled it. any ideas?
