Opera at SxSW

Sunday Morning at SxSW I was priviledges to be the first person in the US to get a personal demo of Opera Mobile 9.5. They did an event the night before where they did the first US public reveal of it. So hundreds of folks saw it, but I was right there when the trade show openned the next morning. (Helping them get their Sprint branded Titan working on the very slow SxSW network.)

Opera has a VERY big presence here. Their party was great yesterday. It really rocked. So I am hoping there are a number more converts.

There wasn't anything all that exciting in the demo was done. We've all seen it (and used it). So I can't really tell you anything new except that I prefer my settings over his :P

BUT there were a couple questions that I had answered:
1. They WILL be selling both to the providers and the consumers. I was worried that they would not make it available outside of the networks.
2. There is no price point available yet. They don't know if it will be available for free or if they will charge. And if they will charge, what it will be...
3. The ppl at the booth would not commit to them doing a public beta but my name is being given to the person in charge of evangalism contacts in the united states. So when there is more info being sent out, I should be able to provide details here...
