for an always on/background connection and free try Slick. i use it and love it.

+1 for Slick. It is the most feature rich. You can even send and recieve files.

another +1 for slick. Most features, send/receive files, show when the other person is typing. Just enlarge the font and it makes the UI more more eye friendly and better looking. I hate palringo. IMHO it SUCKS


SOMEONE PLEASE GET OZ WORKING!!!!!!!!! Im sick of getting my battery raped just to IM!!

I've been using octrotalk and it doesn't seem to have any issues with my phone.

nowadays i have less of a need for IM, but when i do need it i rely on palringo, it's never failed me! i consider it one of my must have apps.

Have used IM+ a ton, but quit IMing as much recently. Seems like I'm going to have to give Slick a try, though... downloading now.
