From an annoymous donor check out this: Opera 9.405! Edit: Check this out the annoymous donors have updated to fix uninstall issues and there is a seperate qvga package available. Install over currently installed and u can uninstall afterwards. Enjoy! Please note the Uninstall in the name means that these ones can be uninstalled not that these are the uninstallers - Thanks CJ

UPDATE: The modder has released a fixed version for the qvga cab. This should fix the zooming issues and some skin issues. Updated the attached cab

UPDATE: There is a WM5 Cab available too. This is ONLY for wm5 NOT for anything else! DO NOT use the WM5 cab for anything other than WM5!

it won't let me deinstall it. it is not in the remove programs part of my settings. I'm kind of annoyed. I was just installing it to see if there was anything special. to me, there isn't. I don't need 3 internet browsers on here and now i can't take this one off. any suggestions?

there was the same issue with 9.33. there was a thread created about removing it with instructions. see if that works.

I was sortov stalling to see if that was a problem but knowing there is a solution makes me still want to try. what does it look like folks? any ideas?

not really. thanx for the heads up, but none of it is working for me. I have a touch and when i go into the java to try to uninstall it that way, its not there either. its not that big of a deal as its not causing any problems, just taking up space. I'm gonna have to go swap my Touch soon anyways since the earpiece is blown. That'll fix it....ahhaah.

designed for WM, not regular phone. Mini only runs through java, mobile runs like netfront. Other than that go watch the video for 9.5.

i saw the video and wasn't really impressed to the point where i would drop mini, and i knew it didn't only run through java like mini does as well, but i wanted to know if anyone who had the opportunity to experience both softwares could give me a comparison of the 2, i'm trying to figure out the pros an the cons to someone switching from mini to mobile.. because as of now, i don't see too much need

I don't know of much different. The one thing i hate about mini and netfront is that the zoom is in specified increments whereas the iphone zoomed in on the frame regardless of size. It was more varying. But then again i loved every aspect of the iphone besides 3G support

i never thought this zoom feature would be an issue lol, and i heard netfront wasn't all its cracked up to be either anyway.. idk i was thinking about checking out om but i know its hell to uninstall if i don't like it; just trying to see what all i would gain from the switch

netfront is an easy uninstall from what i have heard. I like it but it is a mem hog, if you run a lot of apps then forget it. It also can take a sec from click to register. From what i remember from mini they are similar. I don't like the mini home page though, doesn't reflect real internet for me. Plus the bookmarks for netfront are cool.

Aparently you don't. It has been reported that the uninstall method for 9.33 does not work for this one. Someone will figure it out tomorrow. They are all in bed.

I am sure you can manually find the opere.exe and other opera files in the windows folder and delete them along with the opera folder in the applications data folder in the root menu.

Yes, but there is no way to know if all the files are in the root menu. You might be searching for days. Someone came up with a way to remove 9.33, someone will for this too.

for anyone looking to uninstall it

just open a cab manger and look at where all the files go and delete them.

Thats all an installer does anyway and its the only way untill someone neatly packages this with an installer.

and please remember people this is beta software. no stability guaranteed.

Okay, I got mine uninstalled by doing this.....

I installed another copy that was posted over at XDA, over the one that I had. This will install a copy of Opera Mobile that will also be listed in the uninstall programs. Here's a link to the thread. It's about the fourth post down---

Then after I uninstalled it from the systems tab of the setting menu, I ran Darkness's Opera default remover cab and did a soft reset. That restored all of the file associations/icons that Opera Mobile screwed up.

Now my phone is back to normal :)

found a glitch. if you switch to land scape mode and try to zoom program will try to zoom with a portrait screen shot and the screen will show a really ugly drawing glitch.

if you tap the screen again it will return to normal. but if you zoom in or out this happens :(

sucks but its a step up from 9.33 crashing on a switch from landscape to portrait.

and big note this glitch ONLY happens if you start the program in portrait mode.

So i guess i'll be starting in landscape until its fixed ;)

just copy to main/aplication data/opera9/skin
this is v9.5 build 405, it runs faster than v9.0 build 331 but smart-fit function is still for VGA only, hoping final version will support QVGA!
