Choose the XP icon choice and your icons have to be in .ico format (which is standard for Windows)

The one available from UL is good its called makecall.exe i think. You can just make your pictures you want to dial into icos and then put the number you want to dial as the parameter.

I love the program. But that's not a question.

I have been able to link to several "notepad" files successfully in UL and even give them little icons, but what I want to do is link to the location where I keep all my files...basically an "open folder" called NOTES.

I can't seem to do that.

I can make a link to "File Explorer" and that works well, but then when I use FE to find another program it won't link back to that same spot the next time.

Here is my GUESS: I should make a link to File Explorer, but I also need to edit the "Parameter" area so that it points directly to this area. My problem is that I have no idea how to "word" the parameter area so that it does this.

Any help?

Thanks so much. I hope I was clear enough.

K--

parameter field should look like "windows/start menu/programs/games" if you wanted it to open to your games folder.

.lnk file collection

I'm not sure if I posted this in the right place, but I want to start a collection of .lnk file locations and what they do. I have been pulling my hair out trying to find how to make my screen rotate, adjust brightness, open control panel and other functions with the press of an icon, "like in the htc home plug-in". Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Eehrhard. I'm trying that but still having issues. Should I keep the quotes or not (have tried it both ways and had no luck).

Here is the path I am trying

my device/my documents/NOTES

That is EXACTLY how I have it typed in. Does anything look "wrong" about that? Any suggestions to tweak it?

The command line says:
\Windows\fexplore.Ink

Does that look good, too?

Thanks for your help.

Re: .lnk file collection

I'm not sure I understand what you want... On a guess, you mean you want to know shortcuts that can/should be created to programs that don't get created automatically?

IE The parameters needed to make a shortcut to run Mini Opera..

Is this what you are asking? Definately not a Registry Forum issue... More like Applications or Software fourms, or even the General Forum...

I have over 1500 contacts in my database. Does Face Contacts allow you to specify favorites? It looks like you have to scroll through all your contacts. I am just looking for a speed dialer.

You will have total flexibility using the makecall.exe app from http://www.ultimatelaunch.de/smartutilities/smartutilities.html

You can use pictures or any icon you choose to identify the number. You could technically have as many speed dials as you wanted just by adding pages. Its a little more tedious than some other solutions but its worth it I believe.

Can you tell me how you get Face Contacts to scroll. When I try to scroll, it actually scrolls UL and not Face Contacts. Also, the captions do not display below the contacts.

Hold your finger on the Face Contact for about 1 second then swipe your finger. It works that way for me with out UL scrolling.

Create a new shortcut select XP icon. Point the program location to where ever you are storing makecall.exe or to a link (.lnk) to it. In the parameters field put the phone number you want it to call and finally choose a .ico icon on the icon tab either with or without a text label.

Thats great. One of the best things about ul is how little memory it consumes.

I didnt notice any difference between the full vs trail but I only used the trail for a few hours.

I'm new to UL, and this may have been discussed, but my search revealed nothing helpful except results to multiple 200 post threads. Anyway....

I can't get Pocketbreeze or SPB diary to scroll. I have 3 tabs, HTC home, SPB Time, and I want a PIM program (perferably Diary) but I lose animation functionality when I get to Diary.

BTW- I'm not using any headers..nor do I want to.

Suggestions welcomed...

You can disable gestures in UL for those programs and it might help. You go about doing that in the UL config on the today plugin settings.

Sorry if this question has already been asked.. I haven't gone through this thread since the first time I tried UL and couldn't make it work the way I wanted... here goes:

Is it possible to set UL up to only occupy the bottom half of my screen, allowing me to leave HTC home static?

Yes. You can have HTC home above UL on your today screen. Just activate it and make sure it is above UL on the list of today screen items.

You are not going to have much space though.

And You can really do so much better than HTC home by using BatteryStatus and WeatherPanel but to each his own...

I tried this previously...to no avail. I did figure out a work around. I set the UL plugin height about 15 pixels larger than the Diary plugin, and this creates a small sliver that I can use to turn the cube. Not quite what I want, but it works.

Is there a way to display the default calendar & tasks in a UL tab? Not the icons themselves, but the display that you would see if these items were selected in the Settings---> Today----> Items? Basically, I would like a default type view within a UL tab.

No. Calendar and Tasks do not play nicely with UL because of the way that they are defined in the registry. The good news is there are several task and calendar programs that will work within UL, many even free. I am sure someone else can tell you names as I do not use either personally.

is there any way that you can make an icon in one of the UL pages that will go back to the home page, IE, if you are in your tools page, you click on text that says "home" and it takes you back to your home screen?

Everytime I soft reset my phone when it comes back on I have 2 htc home screens, I have to go into my today screen and uncheck it. It doesn't take that much time, but sometimes it gets annoying. Is there a fix for this?

You could do this only by using tabs as far as I know. You can make it so the home tab is always in the middle and make the tabs smaller with no icons if you dont want icons and kinda do what you are looking for. I dont know if there is a way to control the tab switching with a shortcut though which seems to be what you are asking.

If you have a combination tab in UL make sure that you do not have two today plugins on it. If you dont just make sure in Start>Settings>Personal>Today>Items and make sure that you do not have HTC home checked there.

Re: Ultimate Launch

Sorry if this is a repeat question, I only read through about the first quarter of the pages on this thread.

I just installed UL on my Mogul (latest Kitchen ROM)... everything seemed to work fine until I started to try to configure it.

Now EVERY TIME I click on OK to close the UL configure program my Mogul immediately displays the ActiveSync screen and everything is frozen (screen, buttons, etc). Only a soft reset will get out of it.

Any clues?
