BlueLock - Lock your computer with your bluetooth device

I haven't tried this as my stupid company has disable the bluetooth on my laptop, but this looks interesting...

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...Bluelock.shtml

Quote:
Bluelock description
Bluelock is an little open source application that locks your Windows PC if a particular Bluetooth device is not detected

Bluelock is a small free tool which will locks your Windows PC if a particular Bluetooth device is not detected.

For example, if you register your Bluetooth mobile phone with the program but then move away from your desk, the program will detect if your phone is out of range and automatically lock your system, requiring the password to be entered to reactivate the system. Full Delphi source code is provided.

Re: BlueLock - Lock your computer with your bluetooth device

Cool concept.. wonder if it's truly secure....

One thing to test before anyone uses this as a security option is Safe Mode. If the program is placed in a Startup folder or Registry key then Safe mode will likely bypass this program. I suppose you would still be using a password.. but just something to think about.

Re: BlueLock - Lock your computer with your bluetooth device

I wonder if these would still work if I just turned off my keyboard or mouse to my lappy...might have to try it.

Edit - not going to waste the time with this...hitting Ctrl+Alt+Delete then enter isn't that painful.
