AuburnMK- may I ask what model number your toshiba is? I have a A215 series notebook.

**UPDATE**

I finally got speedtest.net to load, and im usually around 1100-1500k download, i only hit around 400k, so maybe there could be something wrong with the network around cleveland, ohio. Thats the only other thing I could think of. Any more help would be appreciated-ill report back tomorrow morning, thanks for the input guys
if it's not the connection in cleveland which is usually pretty good, then i would say that it could be the OS. and if it ain't the OS, then i guess we're gonna have another long day, but figuring this out will take time, but wait a sec... wideawake just recently appointed a new kind of admin who helped him with all the issues with his servers. maybe the answers lie with him.

Re: New Vista Notebook-internet Sharing Problem

I have no problems with Vista ultimate tethering or running a ruu and flashing roms, but I did have to go to Microsoft and download a updated Mobile device center driver. Try this "Click Me" 32 bit driver.

Re: New Vista Notebook-internet Sharing Problem

that could be a possibility, ill check that out, but I would think if the drivers were missing or corrupt, then it wouldnt connect at all..and it does the exact opposite. It connects fine, and its almost like a dark little kid comes along and kicks the connection without the phone or computer realizing that the connection is gone. Configfree even says connected and functioning properly.

lsme: r u using the latest satelitte series? (A215-xxxxx)?

Re: New Vista Notebook-internet Sharing Problem

The Satellite I have is a A105-s4094 "Specs" 120 gig HD, 2 gig ddr2 Ram. The only thing I don't like about it is the mouse touchpad. I'm always hitting a corner and minimizing the window or closing it.

Re: New Vista Notebook-internet Sharing Problem

the notebook i just sold was a A105-s4284, if i cant figure this out i will try pdanet or somin like that. I hate to do a restore on my new computer, cuz i just x-ferred all of my stuff to it, (about 15 gigs worth).

The new one i have is pretty much the same set-up as yours, 1.9 ghz AMD athlon X2(64 bit) gig of ram and 120 gb HD. I just wanted the new look, lol im a spoiled brat. Running 32 bit Vista Home.

You can disable that utility for the touchpad. I actually like that feature. MSconfig will let u know what proggies start at boot, and just find the file and disable it.

3.16/3.27 im not sure whats causing the problem. normally when the disconnect would happen..id get the "remote device has disconnected" on my phone...the problem is it doesnt actually show it has been disconnected on either side, phone or computer..the crazy part is i will still get the normal disconnect after about 30 minutes(well the phone will give me that remote device message) even though the connection seems to get lost after about a minute...

IN all my year of geeking on phones/computers, Ive never been stumped before, but i guess there is a first for everything.

Smile Re: New Vista Notebook-internet Sharing Problem

Hey Success...if you recently updated your mogul to the new rom you may want to go into the registry on your phone and change the Multi NAI as per the registry hack and then go into ##data# and change it to mobile ip preferred. I was having a similar issue on my notebook and once i made the multi nai tweak it worked. Well at least temporarily, i can connect and browse on my notebook but i get the remote party has terminated the connection about every hour or so. I just reconnect and keep on truckin...hope this helps
