free contact and calendar sync software

is there a good software that will sync our caledars and contacts and reinstall after a hard reset? I dont know the point of ActiveSync if it doesnt do this. I tried and couldnt get it to work. help is appreciated.

Well if you want solid quality, it isn't free, but SPB backup gives great PIM backup service, along with Sprite (free for Treo W/WX users).

As far as FREE goes, I haven't used it myself, but there is a PIM backup app that I believe does calendar as wel over at XDA developers you can check out:

Yes, you can back it up to a card, or your main device. I keep a copy on my PC as well, that way even if I lose the card, I have a full backup on my PC of both the system, and the PIM file. I think it works pretty well.

if you are a yahoo user. you can use "yahoo! go 2.0" download it to your cell phone and sync your contacts for free from your cell phone. and the contacts will also be saved to your yahoo page on your pc.

Even though Yahoo go 2.0 is hella slow...this feature is invaluable! That's one of the first things I did when I got 2.0.
