Radar dissapearing from today screen

I have been using Weatherpanel for ~1year and never had any issues. I normally use 1 of the animated icon sets with the default-detailed layout and the default theme. Just recently the radar image has started dissapearing (normally have the radar image and w/ the three day forecast). What happens at random times is the radar image goes away and goes to the 7 day forecast. Heres what I have tried. Radar image purge time is set to 4hrs and the update time is set to 4hrs. Automatically Cycle Cites is unchecked (only use 1 city). Have tried multiple radar images. And Different versions of the program (wp_trial08_Fixed_cab.zip, and the one from http://www.marsware.net/WeatherPanel/download.htm) and all variations of the icons (animated and non animated). Even did a hard reset and only installed a few programs, one of which must be the culprit. Here is the list of installed programs
Ac IMSelector
PocketCM Keyboard 0.12
eFrost Touchflo
Memmaid (2.1)
RAF Phone key vibration
bluefrog big button dialer
htc audio manager
AEButton plus
HButton 2.1
6 button com manager

I suspect that the hbutton which I use for the today function (u-d swipe on touchflo) and Quit (d-u swipe on touchflo)

Has anybody else had this issue?

EDIT: Unintalled hbutton and softreset, and problem still occurred

make sure you are using this version and not the one from the marsware site. this one has a working radar.

That is the one that I have been using also did try the one from the Marsware page. One other thing that I did was modify the cabs by copying the tahoma.ttf font and renaming it Bradhitc.ttf, and Pixel.ttf. These two fonts were causing my comm manager (as well as a few other programs) to display in the Pixel font and if it was deleted would show the Bradhitc.ttf font (see Cleaned Up 6 Buttons Dual comm manager). However I have tried the modified and the non modified cabs and the both do the same. ( These fonts are located in /program files/marsware/weatherpanel/themes/default)

any resolution to this? i've tried many things and cannot seem to get it to stay. very frustrating.

No, I just gave up and accepted it. I think it has to do with modifying the ttf files.

Check the program files/marsware/weatherpanel/data directory for the files that have radar in the name. These are the radar files. You can add .jpg to the extension to see if they have an image. When weatherpanel is working look at the file names and the size. When weatherpanel stops working check the files again. If the latest radar file is corrupt i think the radar will go blank.
