This is not working on my 6700. It resets my device and starts updating after 9 secs it resets again and then says failed update. What is wrong?

Uhmm that's odd... I used Sprite on my 700wx and have been using this WM5 version on my WM6 Mogul.

Did you install on the card? Did you try reinstalling on the device? Did you soft reset after installing?

Hmmm, it says not enough space on extended rom2 or enough space on card. I have a 2gb card and not to much on it. It says I have 1494.59 MB left on my sd card and I know that is enough. I don't know what I can delete from the extended rom 2. After I installed the cabs to the storage card can I delete the cabs from the card?

Edit: Now I can't use active sync. It says I must install 4.1 or greater. I have that and I just used it not even 5 minutes ago.

Yes, you can delete the CAB after installation.

Are you selecting the Storage Card to be included on the backup? I wouldn't since it makes the backup file larger and makes no sense since the files on the card are kind of 'backed up' already.

This is what I did.

I downloaded cab to card, installed cab from card, then I ran program from start dropdown menu. Created password and then started the backup. It said it had to restart to continue, restarted and then went to 9 sec progress, restarted again and then said failed to update backup due to not enough space on extended rom2 please put in storage card with enough memory.

I know it has enough memory as it said it ony needed 170mb and I have the above mentioned.

I am such a newbie at all this. I need to have this backup program but don't know how to fix this.

PIM Backup

How reliable is PIM Backup?

I want to give some of these custom ROMs a try, but so far have been hesitant to do so because I do not want to lose my text messages. I figure, I can reinstall my apps, I don't care about call history, and I can save everything to an SDcard. The only thing I am really concerned about is the SMS data.

I tried SPB Backup the last time I flashed my phone (It was January 2007; I didn't realize that there was a new offical rom from Sprint with new radio, etc. in November 2006.) and it worked very well - except the text messages were gone.

Also, is there a way to do a full image backup? I know on a PC, you can make an image of a hard drive and then restore the drive from the image later. Is there a way to make a backup of my entire phone, then restore it later, in case one of these custom ROMs bricks my phone?

I want more out of my phone... Sprints last rom is slow and buggy and battery life is awful. I'd love to get AKU 3.5 or better (or WM6?). I don't want to lose what already works.

Ok hold on, did you change the path of where the backup file was to be saved? It does NOT save to the storage card by default, you need to go to the section where the file name is and change if you want to save on the device or card, what folder and what name.

I use the advanced layout by the way...

I cannot be 100% sure, but it seems that Sprite Backup 5.1 is NOT compatible with WM6/Mogul.

It seems to be the root of my issues and also when I try to restore a backup I end up on an endless loop of automatic soft resets.
