I agree with Xero.. it's faster but darker (although it looks like the unskinned 0.16 version but with bigger text.)

Anyone get the abel.contactlist.header.text on the top when bringing the program up?

Yeah, I've got that. Doesn't bug me much though. I'm just happy that my contacts load in a second!

I am using the iphone theme. Works just like it did with 0.16.

I have been trying to skin it for a couple days now, and I am by no means a programmer or expert on these things, but I had a VERY cool theme built for 1.5, it was a robot theme with different backgrounds, and buttons. With this current version though I can't seem to make any headway. I think if I had one to work from I could do it, so....what I am wondering is this: Is there anyone in here that has the skill/inclination to create a theme with different backgrounds and buttons? I want to learn, and having one with images instead of color codes would help a lot, then I can translate the three or four 1.5 themes to work with 1.7!!

Is there a way to show all contacts? I couldn't get it to work in .16.

Believe me...I am trying...this background image thing is the tough part though...reading the .ini file for me is like reading a half translated rosetta stone!!!

How do u make it as the contacts soft key

I can't get it to run in non fullscreen. I uncheck the setting and hit ok, but it doesn't change anything. Even after closing and reopening the program as well as soft resetting.

I did install overtop of .15 so I'm going to try uninstalling, deleting files/reg entrys and reinstalling.

Edit: Well after uninstalling PocketCM, deleting the folder from Program Files, and deleting the registry key in HKCU, soft reset, and then reinstalling v.17 the non fullscreen display still doesn't work for me. I soft reset again after the installation and still no dice.

Can anyone else try unchecking the fullscreen option and see what happens?

I have had V.15 + V.16 on my device and removed it because it was a little buggy and the theme didnt match mine...
V.17 performs even better, is definitely faster and has a very nice optional black theme which really looks good. I am keeping this one.:)

Is that last screen shot the current version of PockerCM? If so, how did you change the background? That is what I am trying to do currently!

It works on the touch. got some good feedback from touch users over at xda. You DO NOT want to install palm sms threading if you want pocketcm to handle sms. If you dont want pocketcm to be your default sms app then by all means go for it.

i will check xda out then..didnt the last one (version .16) have screen alignment problems with the touch?

just read up on it from xda. i guess there are still problems with the touch keyboard and keypad.

I had the threaded sms from the treo on my device prior to installing this. I deleted t-sms after installing PocketCM and havent had any problems and it's set as my default contact browser.

...of course it's not on a Touch so I wouldnt know exactly how well you would fare there...

So what's your take on PocketCM's SMS threading vs. Palm's?

Holly smolly 10x better. Its just plain old cool. You have to try it.

Over at XDA Tene addresses this and if you do not have a eng.lang.ini file then you can just put it in the settings.ini (hidden the zip file). It is put of the "localization". I would recommend putting at the very end of settings.ini.

label.contactlist.header.text= All Contacts

This will show "All Contacts" in the header on the contact lists.

Also if you go to pocketcm.com you will find a few theme's updated to ver. .17. I would agree the standard is not the best, but the program is awesome and Tene has put out some information about programming a theme. I am using the Touch_CS theme and it is pretty good.

Only thing I hate is that it won't do non-fullscreen right now, but it loads quicker than normal contacts and is nice to look at so I'll deal till it's fixed.

anything new for installing themes on .17?

not working for me
i changed the settings.ini inside the theme.zip (with the above line at the end)
put that theme in program files/PocketCM
loaded up the program and selected the theme
nothing (even rebooted)
still have the annoying label as the title

am i doing something wrong?

I deleted my old English.lang file and this went away on restart.

(Edited to change to MY experience... YMMV, of course.)

i don't have an English.lang (i assume it's supposed to be in the same place, program files/PocketCM)

.17 is definately smoother! lovin it!

guys, ya gotta keep in mind, i rushed that last build of iphone theme theres alot left to be desired and lot of lingering code that needs to be cleaned up in there..

tene is the man!! or girl, dunno which.

Why do you have theme.zip file. When .16 came out Tene renamed them to White.zip and Black.zip. This meant you do not have to use the theme.zip file anymore. The reason I ask is "theme.?" was back in the .15 ver and older. I want to make you did not just rename theme.cmt (.15 ver) to theme.zip and place it in the pocketcm folder.

try this: remove what I had told you to put in your settings.ini and create a "english.lang.ini" file and put "label.contactlist.header.text= All Contacts" minus the quote. save the file and place that in the pocketcm folder.

pocketcm should not be running in the back ground when you modify the programs effects.
