SMS Backup for wm5?

I am currently using wm6, but am about to hard reset and if it doesnt fix my issues go back to wm5.

Jeyo SMS backup is what i am using with wm6, but cannot find a cab to use for wm5 if i go back. Can anybody assist?

u can find ppcpimbackup and it backs up everything or just txts if htats waht u want...search around its amzin and free

I am using the palm threaded SMS on my 6700 and cant use either of these to backup my sms. can any one offer some advise please?

look into your windows directory for a file called Palmmessaging or something like that copy that file into your memory card every time you wanna back it up that should work pretty nicely.


Its actually called PalmMsgV001, you can test it out by purging all of your messages and then reloading the file into you device.

I found the messaging folder and made a copy. then when i try to copy it to the new phone it does not show any messages

its not a folder its a file just the file, and what do you mean by new phone, are you trying to move text messages between phones? and make sure you put it back into the windows directory, and overwrite the existing file, and have the same version of the palm messaging app on both phones if you are indeed using two phones.

I had a 6700 and am upgrading to the 6800. i have thread sms program on both phones

Oh well sorry to say that it wont work because the messaging app for the mogul is made specifically for wm6 and I dont think is transferable to wm5 or the other way around. But if anyone else here knows something I dont hopefully theyll help you out.

i took your advice and tried to copy the PalmMsgV001 folder over. it worked great. I wish I would have known that 2 phones ago. thanks for the help
