Go to your home/today screen. Down toward the bottom, do you have a slider that tabs thru icons for home, contacts, etc.? If not, maybe you can have it via:

Start > Settings > Home (or Today) > Items

Look for an item called Sense, or TouchFLO, can also be Manilla or M2D, depending on what ROM you're running and what CABs you've installed.
