What lock do you use? If you use the built in device lock, I'm not sure we can get around it. If you use Slide2Unlock2 then I think this would work without modification. If you haven't tried Slide2Unlock2, then I would take a look at it. It is a pretty effective lock, with power management to turn your phone off and save battery power. I'm going to attach a copy of S2U2 that I use. It's an older version (0.72) but I've modified the wallpaper and registry settings to make it work the way I like.

Ok, I just tested the program using S2U2 as my lock and it works without any problems. You would need to disable the normal device lock, install S2U2 and then soft reset. Now when your backlight goes off (I have mine set to 30 seconds) then your phone will lock. 30 seconds later it will turn off. Now you'll be able to launch the program with no problems.

You're right--I am using the built in device lock. I'll give the app you attached a try and let you know how it works for me. |

Lennysh, I know the built in device lock blocks keypresses, but it does allow the unlock sequence, so maybe we can have the mortscript send that sequence. I think it is the left softkey and then click in the proper place onscreen. The only problem will be when the lock is not running. I'm not sure how to determine whether the lock is running before sending those keys. I know it works with S2U2. I only used the built in lock once because it kept giving me problems when launching voice commands.

Hehe, i tried to do it the easy way, and sendkey ( "*" ) after you press the left softkey to see if that werked. It's a no go. So if he want's to continue to use the stock device lock, then I'll have to do mouse clicks at diff points on the screen. But I may not have time till later on today to mess with that, since haven't messed with screen points in a long time. Hopefully, S2U2 will werk out for him.. I prefer it much over the stock lock.
I use version 0.85. It has the Caller Id, and the Slide2Answer an incoming call if the phone was locked when it came thru. I can post that cab later if he wants it. I think it's on XDA-Developers. It's also in the latest kitchen oem.rar. And to the both of ya, I'm usually alway's in PPCGeeks chat if you wanna chat. I have the java links in my signature below... |
Steven, if you could let us know whether running the S2U2 lock works properly and is an acceptable substitute for the built-in lock, then we'll know whether to continue pursuing a fix for the built-in lock problem.

Yeah, Lennysh, I'd love to be able to chat, but IRC doesn't allow names beginning with a number. The java client automatically sends 6700Yuma as my login name, which IRC rejects, and won't allow me to change it until I'm logged in. Vicious circle. I'll have to get an IRC client for Mac, but I'm afraid our web filter will block it...
