Re: Visual Voicemail?

considering it is a carriersoftware on the Voicemail End I couldn't immagine any reason it would work.

According to this article (and honestly i was just about to start a new thread about it) Visual voicemail has come to the G1, but isn't exclusive to android. It also works with windows mobile 5 and 6, and blackberries.

Re: Visual Voicemail?

basically all the visual voicemail is is speech to text sent as an e-mail/text message. that conversion isn't happening on our phones so it doesn't matter if we install an app. the server side does the work and that server side has to be accepting the forward. there are companies that do this, but is it not free. and personally I don't want my voicemails getting stored on some 3rd party server(besides my carriers server anyways)

FYI, GrandCentral can do visual voice mail. However, I don't believe that they are any invitations available to join/use their free service.

yea, that functions exactly as I said, I just left out the fact that it gives you the option to listen to them in any order.

actually it requires call forwarding based on 3 conditions (busy, unavailable, no answer) and a person leaves a voicemail on their system instead of sprints. The system then communicates with custom software to send you the voicemail in an audio format.

The problem is, call forwarding isn't shown in my settings. WTF am I doing wrong?

NEVER F'N MIND PEOPLE! The way to get an outside vvm service to work requires call forwarding. The crooks at Sprint not only charge you 20 cents per minute for call forwarding, there's no conditional call forwarding. Meaning it's either off or on.

No wonder these stupid mothers are going under. Jesus

I checked out Fusion Voicemail Plus and it seems when you forward with sprint they charge you $.20 per minute. I have no idea of a workaround for this.

Anyone got any ideas. For the TP to forward with Sprint you type *73(xxx)xxx-xxxx for busy *74(xxx)xxx-xxxx for no answer and *75(xxx)xxx-xxxx for unavailable.

Wow. Just... WOW. I was in a chat with sprint rep for about 30 minutes asking about conditional call forwarding and she was dumber than a rock. She kept insisting call forwarding is possible on my phone, but international and consecutive call forwarding is for business customers only.

I literally had to say "Listen, did I ask about either of those? No. I'm asking about conditional call forwarding. Example: If my line is busy, forward my call, otherwise, let me answer." Her reply? "Call forwarding is possible on your phone." I told her that people like her are the reason people leave sprint and I ended the chat.

The moron asked me for my pin#, saw my account info, and yet ANOTHER CUSTOMER has to tell me conditional call forwarding is possible.

I hate retards. I'm sorry, I know that's mean, but I really do hate retarded people.

Don't call Sprint reps "retards." It's demeaning to retards.

Re: Visual Voicemail

btw, a good service for us sprint users is www.GotVoice.com it will check your vm for you, instead of fwding your phone. they have a free version via website, or paid for mp3 via email.

Fusion Voicemail Plus -
If anyone (thacounty?) has tried this what did you think if of the service and the cal quality? so not factoring the cost from Sprint, was it a reliable service? I like the fact that they ping the phone when a vm is recorded. I think callwave did it the other way, where the phone had to check with callwave every X minutes to download new voicemails - not great for battery life but easier for callwave i assume.

Sorry man I didn't try because of the 20 cents a minute thing.

Can you imagine doing this then getting that one dumb friend who accidentally forgets to hang up and you get some long-*** voicemail recording their entire night? F that LOL

Re: Visual Voicemail

read the thread at sprintusers. i have sprint tp and using phonefusion and am NOT getting charged. the trick is to simply ask for CONDITIONAL forwarding. if u are under conditional u wont b charge. this applies to callwave phonefusion and whoever else

explain.

what is the difference between the two?

Re: Visual Voicemail

Did some checking into this myself, CONDITIONAL call forwarding is only available on a buisiness account with sprint, and yes.... they still charge for it. I've spent a total of 5 hrs with 6 different "techs" before I found one that knew what I was talking about.

Re: Visual Voicemail

So after reading 11 pages it looks like none of the mentioned companys/websites/programs (or any other things that might have come out in the last few months) offer a way to have free visual voicemail? I guess the Instink has one good thing about it. Still glad I got rid of that P.O.S.

Edit: Nevermind! I read this post and I guess its never gonna happen....:(
